The mission of Senior Resources of Guilford is to serve our diverse community
of seniors and their families by advocating and providing supportive
services that enhance the independence, health and quality of the life for
seniors.
The Greensboro Senior Center is a place where adults 55 years of age and older are
invited to socialize with their peers, eat lunch, and participate in a variety of
programs. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
with programmed activities throughout the day. Public transportation may be
available for adults age 60+ who are unable to drive through County Mobility
Services and SCAT transportation systems. There is no fee to attend the Center or
to participate in most scheduled programs and activities. There may be a fee
associated with trips and certain classes. Also, space is available for senior clubs or
senior group meetings.

A Matter of Balance is an evidence-based
program designed to reduce the fear of falling,
stop the fear of falling cycle, and improve
activity levels among older adults. Classes
include group discussions, mutual problem
solving, exercises to improve strength,
coordination and balance as well as a home
safety evaluation.
Living Healthy is an evidence-based program designed for individuals with chronic diseases including arthritis, chronic pain, and heart
disease. Participants will learn: techniques for
overcoming their chronic condition, medication
management, communication skills, healthy
eating guidelines, exercise tips and more.

Want to know what’s available for you to do if there
is not a scheduled program in the Senior Center?
Well, we have drop-in activities available when there
is not a scheduled program being held in the Senior
Center including:
 Puzzles, word puzzles
 Board Games, dominoes
 Trivia
 Playing Cards
 Wii Game Console
 TV and VCR/DVD player
 Sewing Machines in Craft Room
 3 Exercise Machines in the Fitness Room (with
completed medical form)
 Computer Lab with Internet Access
 Caregiver Resource Library
Some activities are available at all times. Some
items like the computer lab, TV, and Wii are
available only when they are not in use by a
scheduled program.

Workshops are FREE, but you must register. A limit
of three reservations will be taken for each

Center welcomes its new
Senior Center Director,
Jennifer Nichols.
Jennifer has transitioned from her previous
role as the Retired & Senior Volunteer
Program Director at Senior Resources of
Guilford to the Senior Center Director. She is
a Certified Activity Director with seven years
experience working with seniors in the
Activity Profession. Jennifer holds a Bachelor
of Fine Arts Degree from UNC-Greensboro.
“Our seniors are so vital and important to our
community. I am thrilled to be in a role where I
can assist them to be as active as they desire,
enable them to share their skills and talents and
connect them to resources and services that will
