Ignash Petroleum Installs Michigan’s 3rd
Blender Pump
MPA/MACS member Ignash Petroleum has installed Michigan’s 3rd
blender pump at their Elkton, MI
assistance opportunity to replace
three existing pumps and added a
fourth pump. The blender pumps
offer varying blends of E30, E50
and E85 for use in Flex Fuel vehicles. All 4 fueling stations now
offer the ethanol blends as well as
regular unleaded (87) and premium
(93) gas.
Company President Jerald Ignash
estimated the total cost of the project to be $260,000 with $94,000
Growth Energy and a federal grant.
Ignash agreed to purchase ethanol
directly from their Carol, MI plant.
Ignash said it was important to
install the blender pumps at all the
stations fuel islands and the money
received helped them achieve that
goal. “I wanted to give people the
choice at every dispenser, I didn’t
want people to pull up and discover they’re at the wrong pump,”
he said. Charlotte Ignash, VP of
Ignash Petroleum added, “We think
it is important to support renewable
fuel and especially to support our
local economy. By offering blends
of E30, E50 and E85 we are giving
people more options.”
Ignash had a grand opening celebration on November 10th with
MPA/MACS VP Bob Cleary attending and speaking in support of
the project. Also attending were
newly elected State Senator Mike
Green, newly elected State Representative Kurt Damrow, Spokes-
Winter 2011
man for U.S.
Senator Debbie Stabenow,
Spokesman for
U.S. Senator
Carl Levin, and
represenatives
from Growth
Energy, Clean
Cities Coalition,
and the Michigan Corn Growers Association.
MPA/MACS offer Congratulations to Ignash Petroleum on this important endeavor!
