TERM 2 | WEEK 3 Cross Country Results Students Participate in ‘Sport in Schools’ Once again we would like to congratulate our students for a very competitive Cross Country Carnival. The following were the results for each age 4 group. Students placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be competing at the Zone Cross Country Carnival. For 8 weeks on Mondays this term, King Street Public School has engaged the services of ‘Sport in Schools Australia’. They are running a combined skills and social behaviour program. All classes are participating in 30 minute lessons which involve physical activities. As they participate the children are developing social values such as cooperation, sharing, resilience and problem solving. The school is covering the total cost for this term as we see it as an essential part of every child's development. Please feel free to come and watch a session. 8/9 Years Girls st 1 Elise K nd 2 Abby M 3rd Alissa M th 4 Laila T 5th Krystal P th 6 Shae G th 7 Shayna M 8th Arlie S 10 Years Girls st 1 Jessica F nd 2 Ava N 3rd Jessica L th 4 Chloe D 5th Stevie Lee M th 6 Billie P th 7 Bridie B 8th Hope C 11 Years Girls st 1 Tyanna L nd 2 Ayeisha T 3rd Isabella T th 4 Sarah N 5th Hannah T th 6 Mikayla E th 7 Georgia S 8th Hayley P 12/13 Years Girls st 1 Sailor F nd 2 Ruby B 3rd Regina S th 4 Leahni A th 5 Demi F 6th Cally H th 7 Josie S 8th Ebony R www.kingstreet-p.schools.nsw.edu.au Boys Brandon C Jack G Nathan D Koby F Jesse P Lachlan S Charlie K Ethan M Fiona Burgess Boys Paris F Nate H Reid S Marcus W Julian S Alan N Adam H Boys William P Lachlan F James B Blaiden R Ryan E Abbott S Dylan W Jaidyn C Boys Ethan H Tyler C Thomas D Archie D John W Declan S Blayden B 1B Collaborate in our New Learning Space Last term 1B completed activities in the Collaboration Space to enhance their work in literacy based on the book “Looking for Crabs.” Using the green screen and images from the internet, students were filmed reading their book “on location” at the beach without leaving the school! They also modelled small sea creatures from plasticine and created a rockpool scene which they brought to life using the animation app, Lego Movie. The students were very proud of the result. The Commbox’s have been generously purchased by our P&C along with 2 new computers to run them. They will be replacing 2 of our older smartboards in S2N and S2S. The new technology is an update of the smartboards-still interactive with a much clearer picture. There is less maintenance required and the running costs are much lower. We are very excited to offer this equipment to our students and sincerely thank the P&C for their generous commitment to technological advances at our school.
