Neil French
Ted Lim
exWPP Global Creative Godfather
Chief Creative Officer
Dentsu Aegis Network Asia
Credited with bringing the creative revolution
to Asia, Neil is no stranger to controversy. His
natural charm, quick wit and sharp mind
took him all way to the top, as Creative
Godfather with global oversight for WPP
plc, the world’s largest advertising holding
company by revenues, employing around
162,000 people in 3,000 offices across 110
countries. Never one to shy from speaking his
mind, his brazen honesty has usually served
him well in his career; Neil does not suffer
fools.
Star Rating: Richter 10.0
Trivia: Apart from his stint as a bullfighter
and before going full-time into the ad game,
Neil was the band manager for heavy metal
rock icons Judas Priest.
Quote: “It’s only advertising. Nobody dies.”
John Merrifield
Chief Creative Officer
Google Asia-Pacific
The Wall Street Journal once called him
the ‘Don Draper’ of Asia.
Star Rating: Multiple Cannes Gold Lions,
multiple Gold Pencils at the One Show, Grand
Prix and Golds at Clios, Best of Show (twice),
AdFest Golds, Golds at Spikes Asia, Golds at
AWARD, the ADC Gold Prize in Tokyo. Asia
Creative of the Year in 2004 and 2008 by
Media Magazine.
Trivia: When John was Creative Director
of Saatchi and Saatchi in Japan, his entire
Tokyo office went to jail in 2002 for an Adidas
campaign that included crushing a real car
under a giant soccer ball in the middle of
Tokyo’s Shibuya district.
Quote: “If you’re still only dipping into the
digital pool, your business probably won’t
survive the next three to five years.”
Anderson School Ipoh boy, Ted works
with 20 offices across 8 countries based
in Singapore and has won 14 pitches in his
first 12 months at Dentsu Asia. An English
Literature graduate, Ted spent 20 years
helping Naga DDB Malaysia win and grow
over 50 accounts including DiGi, Perodua,
Panasonic, Astro, Nippon Paint, Tourism
Malaysia, Carlsberg,
Mamee, BMW, Malaysia Airlines, Hong Leong
Bank and Prudential Assurance.

Pencil, numerous Cannes Lions, Clios, One
Show Pencils, AWARD Awards, AdFest,

Advertising in his final varsity year. As he
couldn’t afford to buy it, he finished reading it
in the bookstore.
Quote: “Creativity defines and differentiates
what people buy, influences purchase
decisions and keeps people like me gainfully
employed.”
Graham Kelly
Regional Executive Creative Director
ISOBAR
Graham drives creative excellence across
Isobar’s 21 offices and 13 markets in the
region. Before Isobar, he was co-founder of
GKIM, a tech start-up, where he remains a
shareholder. With over 20 years of experience,
Graham has held the title of creative leader at
Ogilvy & Mather, BBH, Leo Burnett, TBWA, and
Saatchi & Saatchi across Asia.

pain. They felt it would offend delicate Asian
sensitivities, whereas in fact the audience
loved it.
Quote: “Chemistry and indeed all science
relies on lateral thinking for truly breakthrough
ideas, just like advertising does.”
