Mr. and Mrs. Nyilas retired in February, 2005,
after 30 years as owners
and operators of Nyilas
Cleaning Service.

children: Ginny (husband,
Tom) Carpenter of Chesterfield MO; Valerie (husband, Ron) Flores ofMadison, AL; and Vicki (husband, Tom) Yemm and Ken
(wife, Kathy) Nyilas, both of
Springfield. There are 11
grandchildren: Nate, Brian,
John, and Russ (wife,
Corinne) Carpenter, Chris
(wife, Angela) Sti;ickland,
Becky (husband, Josh)
Tankersley, Kelsie (husband Jake) Morgan, Korey
Yem~, Alicia, Stephanie
and Eric Nyilas. There are
2 great-grandchildren: Sara
Jo and Maggie Rose
Tankersley.
They will celebrate on
Sunday, June 22nd wi~h
an operi house from 2:004:00 p.m. at Lakeside
Christian Church, 225
Toronto Road, hosted by
their children. Friends and
family a~e all invited.
A prelude of alternating

Mr. and Mrs. Arley Nichols
of Chatham recently celebrated their 4oth wedding
anniversary with a family
dinner. The couple was married June 5, 1934 at Virginia.
Mrs. Nicholas is the former
Mae Broaddus. hey are
parents of two children,
Samuel of Towanda; and
Judith Pierce of Chatham.
There are four grandchildren. Mrs. Nicholas is a retired teacher. Mr. Nicholas
is a retired employe of AllisChalmers.

20, 1937, in Springfield.
Mr. Niemeyer is a lifelong farmer.
Mrs. Niemeyer is a homemaker.

Niemeyer and the former Mildred Akin were married
February 20, 1937 at the Elliott Avenue Baptist parsonage,
501 W. Elliott, Springfield. He has far:med in the Aub~rn area
for 47 years. She has worked at the homes of different
families in Springfield for several years. The couple had two
sons, Jackie (deceased) and Garry of Chatham and two
grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited. .

The wedding took place at 12
noon Saturday at the Central Baptist church, Rev. Vernon L. Shontz
officiating. Attending the couple
were Mrs. Charles ·Moore and John
Nevins, brother of the bridegroom.
The bride was attired in a pale
blue sheer redlngote. Her flower
toque of white had a shoulder
length veil, and · she wore elbow
length white kid gloves. Blue accessories and a corsage of gardenias completed her costume. Mrs.
Moore wore a mist grey redingote
with fuschia accessories, and a corsage of American Beauty roses.
Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast ·was served at Bergen park inn for the immediate
families, at which Mrs. A. L.
Thomas, sister of the bride, was
hostess. Mr. Nevins and his bride
then left on a short wedding trip.
The bride is a graduate of
Springfield High school and is employed by the Loyalty Group Insurance company, Mr . .Nevins was
graduated from Ball Township
High school and Illinois Business
college and is employed in the offices of the Hummer Manufacturing company.
