Wow, the calendar has already turned to November! Time is just
flying by. I would like to thank all our parents who came to
Parent/Teacher conferences. They were a big success and the
overwhelming majority of our parents attended. Thank you for
continuing to send in those Box Tops for Education. Many of our
teachers will receive money for their classrooms through Box Tops.
Keep them coming.
Our second parent class of the year is Tuesday, November 12, at
5:30. This is our Reading night. We will start in the cafeteria and
quickly move to classes. Each student in attendance will receive a
free book and after attending the class, participants will receive a
ticket for dinner. The book fair will also be running at this time.
The book fair will be open right after school. Please shop the book
fair and your child can leave with several books. We had over 400
people in attendance for math night and we hope to have over 400
people here on Tuesday, November 12.
Thank you for your continued support of our PTO dollar dress
down days. As I mentioned in a letter a few weeks ago, the dollar
dress down days fund our parent nights, Student of the Month
Dinners, and Camelview t-shirts. You have hopefully had a chance
to review the parent volunteer letter we sent home and have
returned it to your child’s teacher. We are collecting those letters
and organizing our parent volunteers. Please be on the lookout for
follow up information in the near future. The last two pages of the
newsletter highlight the Frys reward program. Please support our
school by linking your Frys card to Camelview.

As you can see in our calendar of events section, our AdvancED accreditation visit is
coming up November 18-20. Our school district is one of only five elementary school
districts in the country to be an AdvancEd accredited school district. The accreditation
process takes place every five years. The AdvancEd team will assess our district’s
Purpose and Direction, Governance and Leadership, Teaching and Assessing for
Learning, Resources and Support Systems, and Using Results for Continuous
Improvement. The surveys you completed a few weeks ago were part of the monitoring
process. Thank you for taking the time to complete the surveys; they provide us with
feedback that we use to help govern our continuous improvement process.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us ensure Extraordinary Learning for
All. Students earning positive referrals are not receiving Extraordinary Learning for All
bracelets. This is to remind us of our school’s vision and mission. If you ask your child,
they should be able to tell you the vision along with hand gestures to help you remember.
Remember our student handbook and be found on our school website along with
upcoming events, this newsletter, a staff directory, and many other useful sources of
information.
Educationally yours,
Michael Winters
Principal
