FROM OUR INTERNATIONAL RETIREE KING & QUEEN
Hi, Emil & I want to say “THANK YOU” to everyone for a
wonderful campout. Your hospitality and friendship was
outstanding. We had a wonderful few days of games and fun
and the weather was great. We are looking forward to camping
out with all of you in the future. Hope to see many of you at the
SE Regional and also in Gillette, Wyoming. Have a great
summer and thanks again for everything.

STATE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
(From the desk of your Redbug Editor)
I think that everyone, that is everyone who attended the Barnyard Rally, knows that our State
Director, Fred Muckle, at the time of the rally, was in the Hospital. Vi called and informed us
that Fred had Diverticulitis, and an enlarged Prostate, which was restricting a tube connected
to his Kidney. The Davis & the Deans visited Fred on Monday June 2nd and found him in
good spirits. Fred commented that he felt that he would be going home in a couple of days.
We “chatted” for a while longer and then left. The day before Fred left the hospital they
removed the “drain Tube”.
We heard from Vi today (Friday June 12th) and things are “iiify”.Fred did come home but
returned to the hospital on Tuesday the 16th. It seems that he is running a temperature of
over 102*. They did reinsert the Drain Tube.
Vi is asking us to remember Fred in our prayers.
Cards can be sent to Fred via:
The Conway Medical Center

SOUTHEAST REGIONAL DIRECTORS
Greetings from your Southeast Regional Directors. I think most of you know that as of the last
day of Campvention 2015 we will no longer hold this position. I deeply regret that no one has
stepped forward to take our place but we sent in our letter of resignation back in October in
order to give time for someone to be found. We put Campvention as the deadline and like the
song goes, we are sticking to it.
We want to thank everyone for their support. If any of you are willing to step up or know
someone in our region that would be willing to please let us know.
We were glad to see everyone at the State and Retiree campout in May. We missed those
that were not there and extend our prayers to those that were not there due to illness. Fred
Muckle, Carolyn Belcher, Doris Wise, and Amos Horle need our prayers. Fred was in the
hospital at the time of our rally. Amos had surgery right before the rally. We hope they both
get better real soon. Also former members, Jim Trusler and Jeff Thomas are having health
issues. Jim will have knee replacement on the second knee in June.
I think everyone enjoyed the campfires and getting back to basics. We have deemed David
Bragg as the official marshmallow toaster. “Thanks Guy” for providing the music for our singa-longs. We are going to have to diet for a while after all the great food we ate.
It was a great pleasure to have the FCRV International Retiree King and Queen, Emil and
Millie Pauwels, visit with us. Their visit with us was the first of the many campouts they will
attend during their reign. We did enjoy their visit, and wish them “Safe Travels”.
2
Please continue to invite others to join our group. We realize it is hard to get people
interested in groups but just by leaving the FCRV brochures at RV dealers and campgrounds
will let people hear about us. The cadet program is still in effect and all of you can enlist a
cadet. They can also sign up on the FCRV website. If each one enlisted one we could double
our membership.
We will be going to Southeast Regional in June and from there to National in Wyoming. So
far we only know of 4 rigs that are signed up for National. We may tour after National and
may miss the August campout but looking forward to seeing everyone at the beach in
November .

REPORT OF 2015 INTERNATIONAL RETIREE RALLY
The Rally, as we all know, was held in Tallahassee FL. What a Treat! Delores & I arrived a
couple of days early to enjoy the ”getting ready stuff”. You know what I mean. “Who were
some of the Early Birds”, you ask? “Guy & Jeanne Dean and Andy & Chris Davis” I reply!
Didn’t get to see much of the Deans’ because they were very busy getting prepared for their
“run” for International Retiree King & Queen title. Every time we tried to see them they were
gone, off somewhere, organizing, planting signs, getting things ready to hand out. Well back
to the Rally-----Oh What a Treat!
The South Carolina “Hospitality” came off without a
hitch. I’m sure that everyone visited us.
Tuesday night entertainment was Two for Tap. This
program was a couple who tap danced and sang
their way into our hearts. There song and dance
routines were taken from movies of long ago. They
put on a great show and were very professional.
Wednesday night we had a country musician/ singer
perform for us. He accompanied himself on his
guitar. He was also very good.
Thursday night was left up to George Walters to work out the FCRV Talent Night. Boy, he
took the “Dregs” of FCRV and turned them into a very pleasant show. Two of the acts,
including myself, (and may I say that John, singing some of the “Oldies & Goodies”, stole the
show-editor) and a SC Cowboy with a guitar who performed a couple of songs. It was our
own Guy Dean, who also sang a couple of duet songs with wife Jeanne. Believe it, or not,
both acts turned out OK. Neither the “Gong nor Hook” was needed for any of the FCRV
Talent Show acts.
On Friday night the group was amazed with the talents of Sarah Guyco. Saturday was the
crowning of the International Retiree King & Queen.
There were three couples competing:. Eleanor & Paul
Duggen, Emil & Millie Pauwels, and Guy & Jeanne Dean.
The voting took place on Friday at the Ice Cream Social.
The votes were counted but I was not told of the actual
numbers, but told only that it was very close. Then on
Saturday, before the King & Queen Reception the
reigning 2014 King & Queen, Kathy & Dick Buresh, made
their Final Walk. Then the announcement!– Who will it
be? Of course all of South Carolina contingent was hoping that Guy & Jeanne’s name would
be called last but -------- it was not to be. They were voted 1st Runner Up! Emil & Millie
3
Pauwels were crowned the 2015 International Retiree King & Queen. Then on Sunday the
Final “Hooray was the Parade of the States & Providences.
It was a Fantastic Rally. Had we had more attending from South Carolina we could have
really changed things. However FCRV Retirees know SC is alive and kicking!

Retiree King & Queen Organizing Committee-editor)

portion of the Rally will be Three Rivers. Send your $10/rig Registration Check to Johnny O
Martin. Details of the rally will be in the June issue of the Redbug.
Regional Directors -- Leon & LaNelle announced they are resigning effective after
Campvention 2015. The South East Regional will be at Little River Marina in Alabama. They
reported that membership in FCRV continues to decline.
We need to continue to look for new members.
Redbug -- Guy asked for someone to volunteer to write a report on the State Rally. Need
folks to write about things they are doing that could be of interest to other members.
Wagon Master – Guy , again, mentioned that the ’15 Fall campout will be at KOA on 5 Ave,
Myrtle Beach SC. See the June issue of the Redbug for full details. However, a question
was raised about “Site Fee for “Early Birds” and “Stragglers” (that’s what we call campers that
come early and stay late). I have been assured by the Group Sales Manager that the Rally
Site fees will be extended to Early Birds and Stragglers.
Joyce asked for names of members who are ill and need our thoughts & prayers. They are:
Doris Wise - not doing well
Carolyn Belcher - not doing well
Amos Horle - just had surgery
Fred Muckle - in hospital with an infection
Also former members Jeff Thomas - is doing well

LaNelle will have cards to be signed & sent.

Retiree dues.
With no additional business to conduct the Meeting was adjourned.

COMBINED STATE & RETIREE ’15 SPRING RALLY-REPORT OF
The FCRV State and Palmetto Retiree Members met at the Barnyard RV Resort, Lexington
SC, again (for the second time in a row) for a delightful ’15 Spring Rally. There were 11 rigs
in attendance. The Barnyard group management folks clustered us all right “up close and
personal” to the Meeting Room, and we all appreciated that. We didn’t mind the short walk to
our usual affairs at all. “Finger Food”, provided by our hosts The Palmetto Retirees Friday
evening, was available during Registration for the
State Rally. Afterward
we strolled over to
Leon & LaNelle
Ishmaels’ site for a
campfire and “sing-along”. The guitar
accompaniment was
provided by Guy Dean.
Joyce found some
gigantic marshmallows
somewhere and they were delicious. Supper,
Saturday night, was a Retiree “Super Supper”. Leon
& Lanell wanted to provide the Hamburgers and all
the “Fix’ens” as their way to say “Thank You” to all for
supporting them in their position as SE Regional
Directors. Johnny Williamson and Leon Ishmael got
our “Burger’s” done just right. “Thanks “guys”! And
Ellen, we do love the Chocolate Covered Peanuts.
Joining us for dinner were Tommy Radovich and his
wife Karen. They are
neighbors and fellow
church-goers of ours and we thought that they would be
enjoyed. After dinner they ‘strapped” on their guitars and
sang duets to us for about an hour. Their songs were
delightful and, it seems that we all did enjoy them. It was so
nice that the new International Retiree King & Queen, Emil &
Millie Pauwels joined us at our campout. Ours was their 1st of
many campouts they are planning to visit during their reign.
The longest walk we enjoyed was around the wonderful weekend Barnyard Flea Market.
Lots of nice thing to see and hear. Standing around, listening to Keith Tracy accompanying
himself on his guitar is so nice. Wonder if we could hire him to entertain at one of our rallys?
6
Program Committee are you reading this? Monday started
off “stellar - with a Card Embroidery Class conducted by
Chris Davis. Most of the ladies, it seems, attended. We
even had Johnny Williamson to join us, as well, and he was
welcomed. Those cards, when completed, do look pretty.
Monday afternoon was free, ”goof off”, time and we spent it
visiting James Poole who is now in a nursing home.
Our Monday, after dinner speaker, was very interesting.
Our Program Chair, Joyce & Johnny Williamson, obtained
the services of a Sheriff’s Deputy from the Lexington
County Sheriff’s Office. He spoke to us on Scams going around the country. He reminded
us that no reputable business will ever ask us, over the phone, for personal information such
a SS or Credit Card number. So never respond to inquiries of this nature. I thought it
interesting, and was somewhat relieved, when he discounted the idea of criminals, sitting in
cars in Walmart Parking lots, copying information contained in remotes, when we “clicked”
them to lock & unlock our car doors!
The Program Committee, did it again!! They put another 2“ on Johnny “O’s” Girth. That
bunch are going to have to stop putting on these Ice Cream Socials, no matter how much
Guy Dean enjoys them. This “Double Whammy” Monday night affair was enjoyable, a scam
avoiding education with lots of ice cream and special toppings. The fresh strawberries were
extra special!
The games on Tuesday afternoon went off well. We again got the opportunity to play a
new kind of Lawn Bowling game
using logs specially created by
Andy Davis. The game is called
Molkky, and he thinks it has
Swedish roots (pun intended).
The Tuesday night Pot Luck
Supper came off “grand as usual.
We ladies did it again, we put 2”
inches on everyone’s “girth”. Great
food; thanks, again, to all the ladies
for their excellent culinary contributions.
Our Saturday’s State and Wednesday’s Retiree Membership Meetings went well. The
minutes of the respective meetings appear in this issue of the Redbug. We certainly
enjoyed the delicious buffet lunch at the Vegetable Medley Restaurant.
