for the company are located in Innovation Park. Ventana Medical Systems was
purchased by Roche Pharmaceuticals. Roche Pharmaceuticals has announced

facility and facility expansions that will create up to 500 new jobs with an average
salary of $75,000. This will result in an estimated $600 million dollar impact to
Oro Valley and the greater Tucson area.

University of Arizona - The U of A operates a commercialization center called

Oro Valley sponsors and supports an emerging arts community and scene.
• Each winter; Musical Magic for Kids is held at the Oro Valley Town Hall, along
with multiple string quartet and choral performances throughout the town.
• Every April; the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts is held celebrating all forms of
art and artistic expression. Live musical performances are held throughout
the spring in the open-air amphitheater located at Canada Del Oro Riverfront
Park.
• The annual July 4th Independence Day celebration is one of the largest events
in Oro Valley. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) performs, along with
several choirs. Fireworks shows and concerts are provided by the Hilton El
Conquistador Resort.
• Public art is exhibited throughout the year at the Northwest Medical Center.
