Construction Update New Main Library is “Topped Off” On July 11, the new Main Library celebrated a milestone – a “topping off” ceremony. The tradition celebrates that we have completed the structural steel form for the new building. A tree was “planted” at the top of the three-story structure as a symbol of growth. Researching Your Civil War Ancestors Whether it is possible to truly understand the forces at odds with the times or not, as genealogical researchers it is necessary to hunt for those who served. The Bluebonnet Regional Branch will host a class based on the book by John H. Segars and the National Genealogical Society’s guidelines for finding your Civil War ancestors. Sassi Strippers Quilt Guild Demonstration The Sassi Strippers Quilt Guild will display a selection of their quilts at the Jones Creek Regional Branch during the month of August. The guild will host demonstrations of quilt-making on Saturday, August 18, from 11:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
