ACT ONE
The Morrigan Belladonna & The Bohemian Sword Dancers
She haunts you in your dreams
When you wake you can’t even scream
You hear the wind in the midnight sky
Upon which the Morrigan shall fly
She is justice and everything right
Look out for more than dreams tonight...
Between both worlds the crow awaits
This perfect twist of fate
Life or death, living or dead
You can’t escape the places you’ve tread
Mark my words, make no mistake
It’s only everything she will take...

It doesn’t matter to the stake.

Conjuring the zar - Yasmin & Miasia
For centuries women in Africa and the Middle East have turned to the zar,
a race of jinn, in times of acute need. If modern medicine cannot cure their ills, it is
assumed supernatural forces are at work - that she is possessed by one of these fire
spirits. The Egyptians call it “clothed” or “covered”. If she is with spirit, she will try to
communicate with the entity through a dance induced trance to find out what it wants,
because only when a zar is placated and its demands met will the woman’s suffering go
away.
The Lament Of Angels - Troupe “HIP’Notic
As messengers of the Divine, our purpose is to guide and protect you, and carry out God’s
will on Earth. Yet as inherently imperfect humans, you ignore our pleas of peace and veer
ever closer to war and destruction. God has a plan, but not all agree with it.
What are we angels to do – toe God’s line, or fall from grace?
DANCERS: Anon, Heather G, Tania, Becca & Alison
The 12th House - Sherri Wheatley
