ASKS CONMIO TO TAKE THEM MOBILE
MTV3, Finland’s first commercial TV
broadcaster provides news services that
reach millions of users nationwide. MTV3
wanted to extend their services to mobile
users.
STRATEGY
After an initial discovery phase, we
established that MTV3 needed a
user-customizable website as well as native
applications that enhanced the mobile user
experience, expand their brand presence and
generate additional revenue. We adopted a
rapid prototyping approach for user testing
and stakeholder alignment. Through this
iterative approach we were able to launch an
initial pilot project into a cornerstone
offering that is now heavily used by viewers
nationwide.
DESIGN
A consistent interface for all devices was top
priority with the mobile website, which
required careful consideration to create a
website that could adapt to devices ranging
from low-tech feature phones to high-end
touch screens. For native applications the
focus was to create interfaces that followed
the conventions of their respective platforms.

TECHNOLOGY
For the web, we provide users with
location-based weather reports. Our
Middleware Engine allowed us to develop
a website that could detect and adapt to
device specifications. For native
applications, we used our AppEngine
framework to rapidly create a rich user
experience for tablets and phones.
RESULTS
The user base has grown tenfold since
launch, with users utilizing the services
heavily on a daily basis. Ad revenue has
grown significantly.
