Use only the AC adapter supplied with the product. 08 Safety Precautions Safety matters for AC adaptor To avoid shock do not open the unit. It is stabilized 5 to 6 seconds after the power is ON. (High) (Mid) (Low) Recharge the battery in the following cases using a USB cable; “Low Battery” appears on LCD The button is not functioning correctly LCD is not activated by pushing the power button. Avoid excessive recharge longer than specified hours (3hours) to prevent fire. Fully recharge the battery when trying to use it for the first time or after a long-term disuse (longer than one week). When the ‘hours of use’ of the battery gets shorter in comparison with recharging hours, replace the battery. Since the battery supplied with the product is a consumable good the using hours of it slowly gets reduced. The built-in battery can be recharged about 500 times. Avoid any metal part from contacting DC converter or built-in battery to avoid unexpected fire or electric shock. Disposal The Device includes a built-in Lithium-Polymer battery. The battery is recyclable so please return it to nearest ‘recycle center’ when you dispose the Device. Don’t disassemble the device for disposal. 22 Recharge 1.Connect the device into a PC using the USB cable supplied in the package. Connection with a PC 1.Connect the product with a PC using a USB cable 2.Recharge will be in process while downloading or uploading files. 2.The screen displays the icon on the right if the connection is correctly made. It takes approximately 3 hours to completely recharge a completely consumed battery. Recharge the device using a USB cable when LCD is not activated. 23 Disconnect the device from PC only after you perform "Hardware Safety Removal." 24 Disconnection Disconnection 1.Double click on the green arrow on the right-bottom part of the initial Window screen. 3.Click on OK (enter) on the “Safety removal of the hardware” message bar followed by the cable removal. lick ble C Dou Click 2.Click on Stop and OK (enter) consecutively after selecting “USB Mass Storage Device” Click 25 What’s USB (Universal Serial Bus)? This is the new data connection system between a PC and its peripheral devices. Connect the USB cable supplied with the product into a USB port in PC. Any unexpected error can be occurred when connecting the cable to the USB port located in the front face of the PC or USB hub. The product can not be identified in the PC installed with Windows 98SE or lower version. Install the program CD supplied with the product in the PC. Click 26 Disconnection In the case of Windows 98SE Open “My Computer” or “Windows Search” and click on “Removable Disk.” click on “Remove” using the right button of the mouse and then disconnect the USB cable. Basic Functions Click Removing the cable without following the above instructions will cause a warning message to display and may cause a fatal error in the PC or the device. When the battery is low the device is not activated showing "Low Battery." Use an USB cable to recharge the battery when the LCD is not activated. When no button manipulation in the pause or stop status is made after the set period for “Auto Power Off,” it automatically turns off the power. When you try to play the file again by pressing , following the restart of the device, it completely recovers all previous settings. All track numbers and settings for equalizer and others are fully recovered. The volume level stored in the device will be 10 if the original volume level before the turning off was set between 0 and 10 while it will be 25 if the original volume level was set between 25 and 30. 29 30 Modes Category There are altogether 6 modes programmed in the device; Music, FM radio, Voice REC, Video, Photo, Setting. Each mode has different functions. You can search and play tracks by categories (playlist, artists, albums, songs, genres, composers) i.e.) when trying to play “bye bye” in genre "New Age;" i.e.) to enter “FM Radio” mode In Music status"... This function enhances the bass effect within the range from 1 to 10. 69 70 Sound Sound Beep Sound EQ/SRS You can edit the EQ setting you selected as per your own taste (Normal, Rock, Jazz, Classic, Pop, Live, Dance, SRS). This allows you to recognize the manipulation of a button. EQ Edition User-select EQ Audible frequency band press Band shift (5-band): On: It sounds at pressing Play and FF/REW. Off: The function is not available. Fade In This function slowly increases the volume up to the set volume level. Tone control: press If further setting has not been made, you can listen to the music in the tone originally set in the device. 71 On: The volume of the file is slowly increased until it reaches to the preset level. Off: Tracks start with the set volume level. 72 Display Contrast You can set the brightness of LCD within the range from 1 to 10. Backlight Time This enables you to set backlit duration among following options; 5sec./15sec./30sec./100sec./always. Scroll Speed The speed of the text streaming can be adjusted within the range from 1 to 5. 73 Display ID3 Tag It allows the device to display ID3 info instead of file name if the file has ID3 info. Slide Show You can set the time interval between images for slide show within the range from 1 to 10seconds. Graphic EQ This enables you to display three different types of images on the LCD; wave, stereo, off) 74 Display LCD Pivot You can pivot LCD for your convenience. All folders : All files in all folders are played Sleep Mode This function automatically turns off the power of the device for your sleep after a preset period of time; Off/10min/20min/30min/60min. Play Mode You can repeatedly play music files by setting this function. Normal: plays all music files in predefined order. Repeat One: Only the file you desire will be repeatedly played. Repeat All: All music files within the preset range will be repeatedly played. Random Play: Music files are played in random order. Random All: All music files are played in random order. 77 78 Etc Etc Recording USB Interface Bit rates for the voice recording can be selected among 32, 64, 96 and 128. Play Speed The speed of file playing can be set within the selections: (X0.4, X0.6, X0.8, X1, X1.2) You can initialize the set value saved. MSC: The device will be connected as a "Removable Storage Device" AUTO: The PC installed with Windows Media Player in Windows XP will recognize the device as a MTP device. About The information of this device such as OS version, memory capacity, remaining capacity, etc are displayed. Default You can reset all settings you made into the originally set values. What is MJPEG Converter? This is a program which enables you to convert other PC based video formats such as WMV, ASF or MPG into MSV and to convert other image formats into MSJ format. 1.Click on "Next."
