Founded in 1945 using rented space in an East Providence
Church, the Newman YMCA has developed into a cornerstone for the communities we serve. The current building
was opened in October 1980 and is located on 7 acres in
Seekonk adjacent to the East Providence city line. The Y
expanded in 1987 and again in 2001 to accommodate
growing membership and the diverse community needs.
The Newman YMCA offers youth development programs
and healthy lifestyle opportunities for all ages while
continuing to maintain a focus on social responsibility.
