“Sunny Smiles”
Welcome New Friends
Ruth– has worked at The Manor for a little over a year, was a lead Quality Life
Specialist and was recently promoted to Health Services Associate, where she
is an administrative assistant and is in charge of all scheduling. You can find
Ruth going above and beyond; and not just in our nursing department but in
other departments as well. Ruth is an outstanding employee, she greets
everyone with her beautiful smile and her warm demeanor doesn’t go
unnoticed. When Ruth comes to the Heathers she isn’t just “coming to work”
she is coming to enhance the lives of residents and does so with dedication
and pride “Its staff like her that make a difference here” said one residents
family member, “her smile melts my dad’s heart” says another. Staff in all
other departments enjoy working with her. THANK YOU Ruth for touching the
hearts of our residents, their families and staff! You ROCK Ruth!
Ryder– is known for being a very dedicated &
hard worker according to his culinary coworkers. He
always has a positive attitude, pleasant disposition
and is kind & thorough with residents and staff
alike. He is willing to help out anywhere there is a
need, plus, takes pride in swiftly and efficiently
running the Bistro take out area & doing deliveries.
Ryder is a staff member you can count on to be
punctual-if not early for his shifts; for “yes”, “sure”
or “excellent” answers when asked any question
and also for keeping everyone intrigued with his
many fun and interesting facts & tidbits. THANK
YOU & CONGRATULATIONS Ryder for the difference
you make by being here at The Heathers Manor!

Keeping It Safe This Summer!

Summer is here! It is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor cooking and
picnics. The only way to keep those functions fun is to keep it safe!
It is important to keep food safe because it prevents us from getting
sick due to bacteria or other harmful material in the food. As we
age, our immune system and stomach change making it easier for us
to get sick if we do eat unsafe food. When grilling out this summer
remember to: thaw food only in the refrigerator, microwave oven,
or under cold running water, use a covered non-metallic container to
marinate meat in the refrigerator (then throw marinate away), and
use a thermometer to ensure proper internal cooked temperature.
The following are tips on how to keep all food safe:
Wash hands and surfaces often. It’s important to
wash your hands with soap for at least 20 secMary Louonds

thoroughly after with running water.
Separate raw, cooked & ready-to-eat foods while
shopping, preparing, or storing.
Cook foods to a safe internal temperature. For
