Precision Linear Floodlighting
The architecturally styled, rugged fixture creates a linear lighting solution suitable for all outdoor climates and applications.
Hydrel’s 4750 Series joins T5 lamp technology with high performance optics. The T5 fluorescent lamp offers approximately
100 lumens/watt, 25,000 hour lamp life and a color rendering index greater than 80. The fixture’s low profile rounded
shape and choice of color options blends well with surrounding
architecture.
The PolarPack™ cold weather option is an active temperature
management system maintaining optimal operating conditions even in the harshest winter conditions. Combined with
the cold weather ballast option you can achieve optimal T5
fluorescent light output at a starting temperature as low as -20°
Fahrenheit.

The architecturally styled, 4750 Series Floodlight is the perfect solution for
projects that demand precision floodlighting, sign lighting or wall washing. The
unmatched optical performance combined with five unique distributions make
the 4750 series the first choice for specifers.
ASHLEY CAPITAL, CHESAPEAKE, VA (IMAGES BELOW)
When the City of Chesapeake announced plans for a 250,000 sq ft distribution center, the
developers of Ashley Capital were challenged with selecting exterior lighting that would not draw
neighborhood attention.
During the design process, project stakeholders were seeking to find a luminaire that blends
superior performance and aesthetics with light trespass and glare control solutions. The answer:
Hydrel’s 4750 series. The precision optics and glare management accessories of the 4750
provided superior illumination while addressing Ashley Capitals requirements for safety,
security and impact on the community. As an added benefit, the 4750’s Flush Source Shield (FSS)
concealed the lamp and optics, allowing drivers to maneuver their vehicles without the nuisance
of discomfort or disabling glare traditionally experienced from an exposed HID arc tube.
CALHOUN’S TASTE OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE, TN (IMAGES RIGHT)
Conventional wisdom says that people are like moths - they are attracted to the brightest areas.
Calhoun’s Taste of Tennessee was willing to take a risk and buck conventional wisdom when
selecting the exterior lighting for their 9,000 sq ft building in Knoxville, TN.
The focus was on finding a fixture that would be aesthetically pleasing during the daytime and
provide comfortable light levels during the evening hours.
The 4750 series was selected for its design characteristics and utilization of T5 lamps which are
instant-on and offer long life. The luminaires are above the buildings’ sign and the downward
orientation eliminates light trespass and provides an even distribution.

POLARPACK™ COLD WEATHER TECHNOLOGY
To date, T5 linear fluorescent lamps can only
be effectively used in select outdoor environments due to their inherent sensitivity
to cold temperatures. Hydrel embarked on
a new technology development process to
resolve these temperature issues in order to
offer a linear floodlighting fixture with high
performance optics and reliable, consistent
operation in any outdoor climate. The 4750
PolarPack option incorporates patent-pending technology to actively control the lamp’s
thermal environment regardless of the outdoor ambient temperature.
The PolarPack™ and cold weather ballast
options are recommended for applications
in ambient outdoor temperatures commonly
reaching 45° F or below.
