CAMPUS
DIRECTORY
FOR STUDENTS. NOT PROFIT.
For more than 80 years Orange County Public Schools has
been making history and changing lives through education
by providing career and technical training for tens of
thousands of students in central Florida.
Most programs enroll students every nine weeks, but all
interested students should come in and speak with an
counselor about upcoming start dates for their program of
interest.
Applications are accepted on a non-discriminatory basis
from anyone having the interest, ability, and desire to
benefit from an occupational training program. Adult
students must be 16 years of age or older and withdrawn
from their high school to be admitted into Orange Technical
College (with the exception of dual-enrolled students).
Two forms of ID are needed – one being a state of Florida
photo ID or other government issued photo ID.
High school students interested in attending an Orange
Technical College during their school day should speak
with their career specialist or a school counselor about dual
enrollment opportunities.
* Courses subject to cancellation if enrollment is not
sufficient.

YOUR LIFE CAN
GET BETTER
WHEN PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING FOR YOU.
I was a single mom without a job when I discovered LifeWorks. During
the training, the team at Jobs Partnership connected me to the people
and resources that enabled me to pursue a career. I am now a Health Unit
Coordinator and training to be a nurse!
-Jasmine
LifeWorks is like a boot camp for work and life. It’s a different kind of training that opens
up a whole new world of career possibilities, connecting you with people that can help
prepare you for what you were created to do. Our network of Resources and Employers
are waiting to meet you. Like Jasmine, you can do this–with the help of others.

APPRENTICESHIP
MISSION
The mission of this program is to provide an atmosphere of
unified learning and skills development, through classroom
instruction and “on-the-job” experience, assuring a lifelong
earning opportunity to a diverse community.
Apprenticeship programs combine paid employment
with no cost training. Completing each year of training
elevates an apprentices' hourly pay rate and their status
within the skilled trade community. Upon completing the
full apprenticeship program, an apprentice becomes a
"Journeyman" or "Master" of the craft and is considered at
the very top of the industry.
Apprentices enrolled at public institutions are exempt from
paying fees including application, registration, tuition and
lab fees. A written agreement between the apprentice and
employer ensures the apprentice becomes skilled in the
occupation.
Unlike other career training programs offered at Orange
Technical College, apprentices are selected to participate by
employers/sponsors based on criteria specifically defined in
standards of registered apprenticeship programs approved
by the U.S. Department of Labor and Florida Department of
Education.

HOW TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE
Check with the admissions office at any of the
Orange Technical College campuses. Potential
candidates must apply for registered apprentice
positions. Admission requirements and eligibility
vary by program because program sponsors
define them according to their specific training
needs and the availability of employment
opportunities. However, federal law defines
minimum requirements and mandates that
selection criteria be job related.
Certifications earned through registered
apprenticeship programs are recognized
nationwide. Apprentices who complete
registered apprenticeship programs are
accepted by the industry as journeymen.
