As another year ends, I
reflect on the year that is
rapidly disappearing in the
rearview mirror. We all
have many moments to be
proud of in 2015—there
were so many great
achievements here at
TBT—and we may even
have a few memories we
are happy to watch exit
our lives. With a new year
comes new beginnings.

Meet Ms. Ferraro
Goofy, lovable English teacher, Ms. Ferraro, began making a
positive impact on Tech’s students when she joined the TBT
family at the beginning of the 2012/2013 school year. Her
huge heart shines through her teaching, the educational
trips she plans for students, and the charitable events she
organizes. Ms. Ferraro exemplifies the holiday spirit.
In addition to teaching, Ferraro’s humanitarian spirit made
her a natural choice for being the Key Club sponsor. When
the students eagerly asked Ms. Ferraro to lead their club,
she agreed. The club will be assisting Ms. Ferraro, the
NJROTC program, and Avid in running an Ugly Sweater
Fundraiser to raise supplies for Metropolitan Ministries and
the Humane Society. This is the second year Ms. Ferraro has organized this fundraiser. Last year was hugely successful—collecting
1,086 cans with a total donation of 984 pounds worth of goods.
Also possessing a passion for exploring the world, Ms. Ferraro is planning two international trips with some of her students. Spring Break
2016 will be spent exploring Costa Rica and Greece is the destination
for Spring Break 2017. Ms. Ferraro’s sweet, adventurous personality
makes her an obvious favorite of TBT’s students.

Tampa By Technical High School (TBT) was established
in 1969 as Tampa Bay Vocational Technical School.
TBT’s program is now an exceptional blend of
academic rigor and technical relevance. A dedicated
faculty provides instruction in everything from
advanced placement to certified technical skill courses.
The campus resembles a community college campus
with large laboratory facilities for several unique
technology programs. The students must apply to this
school and transportation is provided.
