With so many demands on today’s families and the increased focus on early brain development, families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of their child. That’s why we focus on nurturing child development by providing a safe, fun and healthy place to learn life skills and develop healthy, trusting relationships. Through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility your child will build self-confidence and independence. In our before and after school programs, kids build self-esteem and values in a fun and safe environment. You’ll know they’re growing and exploring to their potential; they’ll just think they’re having fun. Our staff will provide a positive learning and recreational experience. Children will have time to stretch their minds and their bodies. Summer Camp at the Hazleton YMCA/YWCA provides supervised activities that teach core values and leadership skills. Kids have fun while they build confidence, appreciate team work and gain independence. Camp Discovery activities allow kids to create arts and crafts, climb the rock wall, swim, participate in field trips, appreciate nature and better understand our many cultures. The programs take place on-site at your child’s school, children engage in physical activities, learn and imagine through interactive games, arts and crafts and team building projects that encourage children to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Our caring staff create a partnership with parents by working together to help children grow up healthy, happy and strong.
