This prospectus contains information to give you a flavour of
Calibre International School, Chennai

Calibre Kinder Years & Calibre International School - units of Calibre
educational foundation
School was located at Mylapore and grew from strength to strength
in the years ahead.
Founder Trustee - Arun Kumar Vaddi (Grandson of Gemini Ganesan
- the romantic icon of Tamil cinema)
Delivered a custom developed curriculum in collaboration with our
UK partner Edward Richardson Primary School, Tetford that had the
goodness of internationalism founded on Indian values.
Correspondent and Managing Trustee - Madhuvanthi Arun granddaughter of Dr. Mrs. Y G Parthasarathy, the Dean and
Director of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Schools, Chennai
Delivered 3 yrs of CBSE curriculum successfully till year 2012. In the
quest for providing up to date and real time education, Calibre
sought to affiliate with PEARSON Edexcel, the International UK
curriculum in December 2012.
Started in June 2006, soft launched by Shri Abdul Kalam, our
Former President, with a vision of developing proactive global
citizens.

Admission Arrangements
The school management is the admission authority for the school
that aims to admit students who they consider the most likely to
enjoy and benefit from Calibre education

Entry to Calibre Kinder years (Age 3-6 yrs) is based on the learners’s
multiple intelligences and interaction with Head Teacher.
Entry to grade II and above is based on the performance review of
the last grade attended, progression test (evaluates the learners
level at entry to Calibre) followed by an interaction with Head
teacher
Prospective students and parents are welcome to visit the school by
appointment, by request mail at [email protected]
An Induction meeting in April & June help new parents and
students to understand school routines and get an indroduction to
the teacher of their wards.

Calibre’s Expectations:
Calibre sets high standards in terms of work, behavior, dress - code
and attendance.
Mutual respect is a core value and we expect pupils to show
courtesy and consideration for each other and to staff at all times.
We have a zero tolerance approach towards bullying, use of foul
language and misbehavior.
We value parental support and recognize the need for good
communication, in order to achieve this. “Weekly Friday Uploads”
provide the necessary updates.
We set out a code of conduct, reinforced by policies that can be

Home learning under parental guidance is an important
contribution to pupil’s progress and consolidates and develops
skills and understanding. Weekly home assignments are expected
to be completed and duly submitted to the home room teacher.

International Collaboration & Global Partnerships
Calibre and Edward Richardson have pursued a very successful
partnership since the year 2006 that has mutually enriched the
students’ lives in their learning cycles both academically and culturally.
This sustained collaboration has broken down geographical boundaries
through our projects undertaken every year, every term and sharing
through Skype sessions has brought virtual interaction. The two schools
have been vigorously engaged in projects like studying about natural
vegetation and sharing with each other, exchanges on art, culture,
cuisines, traditions and many more for the past 6 years and we look
forward to collaborating on more projects aimed at developing creativity
and language skills.
Connecting classrooms project, undertaken by Calibre and Edward
Richardson under the aegis of British Council has been successfully
extended across the globe, promoting tie ups between different schools
in the UK and Chennai, India.
The two schools have together been linked with Croydon Hills Primary
School, Melbourne, Australia. This tripartite aims at working in
collaboration that involves classroom exchanges engaging all the
students and providing multi dimension to curricular and co-curricular
activities.

Hallmarks of Calibre
Calibre International School is among the first, to
conceptualise with “No Kidding” by organizing a series of
events for nurturing a healthy mental development alongside
physical and academic achievements, by having panel
discussions, seminars ,innovative tech fests etc. Since its
inception in the year 2009, the various events provided a
variety of need based and informative programmes for
children and parents.

This year, the tech savvy competitors of Calibre Chimera - a
cyber geek competition - were from various schools ranging
from KG - XII and competitions were held under five
categories involving a written quiz and two practical rounds.
In each category three titles ‘Cyber Geek’, ‘Whiz Kid’ and
‘Hot shot’ along with prizes and appreciation certificates
were awarded.

No Kidding
The high school students organize the events every year with
the teacher facilitators. Along with tech fests, they also help
organize story telling events, puppet shows, art & craft
workshops, fascinating science experiments, exciting robotic
displays and other such fun filled activities. The students
thus grow into effective leaders possessing resourcefulness
and also ‘out of the box’ thinking attitude which sustains
them and helps them thrive during life’s challenges.

Ms. Ketakee Sinha
She holds a Masters degree in Education
and Psychology. Ms. Pushpa has over two
decades of teaching experience in one of
the most prestigious schools of Chennai.
She is passionate about teaching and
interacting with children. Ms. Pushpa is also
known for her amazing sense of humour.
She is highly respected for her unbiased
opinions and no nonsense attitude.
She is an energetic and enthusiastic
individual who is a very pro-active and
meticulous person. Though she has a
formal Masters Degree in Commerce and a
Post Graduate Diploma in Financial
Management from Pune University, Ketakee
has found her calling as a teacher as she
enjoys being around children.
She is also acclaimed for her contributions
to the CBSE system and International
system. She has functioned as a catalyst in
the overall development of the students. She has been a pillar of support and
an advisor in handling the students. She is a very promising mentor.
Ms. Pushpa believes in fostering the creative and cognitive skills in the young
children. Her main concern is improvement in quality of education.
She has a six year experience in teaching,
having begun her career in this field at a
prestigious school in Mumbai. She is an
emphatic public speaker and articulates
with clarity. She has two sound qualities that make her a success in any
field - enjoys everything she does and is very organized in her approach
towards work. She possesses very strong ethics and believes in hard
work - the key to success.
She is easily approachable and therefore her success is in mentoring both
students and teachers. She has a friendly approach to the students and lends
a patient hearing to their problems. A bright and cheerful educator with
immense or vast experience in guiding & counselling children. Communicating
and interacting with people specially children and mentoring them have been
her passion. Nurturing them and guiding her co teachers and kids come
naturally to her and enjoys her work.
Ms. Pushpa is more than an educator, she has been a role model not only to
many students but also to many teachers. She can fit into any role, that of a
friend, counselor and mentor, she has been a guiding force in the lives of
many students and teachers. She is well known in the field of education. It’s

She is a meticulous and committed
person who is passionate about carrying

with parents. Aagnes holds a bachelors
degree in English and Education - B.Ed.
She taught in ‘The Cliff School’ - Ooty for
several years. She is a multi - faceted
person who has also worked for the media. She coordinates with the
press (print & electronic). She is responsible for the micro - planning of
events related to the smooth and successful functioning of the school.
Aagnes is at present pursuing a degree in law. As an administrator, she
