surrounding design, positioning of the medallion, shades,
manufacturing techniques; everything will then be completed
according to the specificities of your design project.

actors on the international stage to offer designs specifically
produced according to requirements mentioned in your interior

The expertise of our design studio enables us to assure you
complete monitoring over your high-end product, from the
original model, to wool or silk coloring, through sampling and

HAND TUFTED
• Material: Wool and silk or 100% wool.

Craftsman process, which intertwines wool or silk colored threads with a
needle on a canvas, following a pattern. For a raised rug, the wool is entirely
“sculpted” with hand-scissors. This technique allows great pattern freedom
and gives the rug its noble features thanks to the weaver and the chaser’s work.

AUBUSSON FLAT WEAVE
• Material: Linen and silk, wool and silk, or wool and wool
• With relief.
• Material: 100% wool.
• Without relief.
New Aubusson is a contemporary mix of French traditional techniques from
Aubusson and Savonery
The weave, identical to the one used in tapestr y, is executed on
horizontal loom. The pattern drawn on paper or on cloth is placed
under the thread chain in order for the weaver to follow the pattern
appearing underneath the chain.

SAVONERY HAND KNOTTED
• Material: Wool and silk or 100% wool.
• Without relief.
Traditional technique for French rugs, which has remained unchanged for
centuries and which is operated on vertical loom. Once the pattern has
been drawn in color, threads of wool or silk are tied on the chain threads,
and then cut. This traditional process guarantees a beautiful long-life rug.

Variation in sizes are possible by up to 5%. This depends on factors that cannot be foreseen, connected
with the tension of the looms and weather conditions at the time of manufacturing.
○ Rugs Edition Bougainville® are mostly dyed by hand and slight variations in colour are possible.
When ordering a rug consider your sample as a reference starting point, but not necessarily the exact
reference of your final rug colour. Variations of colours depend on moisture, humidity and heat.
