Stevens Point, Wisconsin The Stevens Point, Wisconsin, mill is owned by NewPage Wisconsin System Inc., an affiliate of NewPage Corporation, a leading producer of printing and specialty papers in North America. 1919 Stevens Point mill is located in central Wisconsin on the Wisconsin River. Established in the early 1900s, the mill is now one of North America’s largest and most modern paper mills for producing specialty papers. 24.5 ACRES The Stevens Point mill encompasses approximately 24.5 acres and has two paper machines, one off-machine hot-soft calender, two finishing winders and four cut down winders. The Stevens Point mill’s papermaking process is elemental chlorine-free (ECF). 185,000 TONS OF PAPER The Stevens Point mill has the capacity to produce about 185,000 tons of coated and uncoated specialty papers per year including flexible packaging papers for pouches, spiral canisters, bags and various types of wrapping paper; label papers for bottles, jars and cans; high-gloss papers that are metalized; and technical papers for bar code labels, receipts and release liners. All employees work together to achieve a common safety goal: zero injuries. chain-of-custody certifications The Stevens Point mill has three chain-of-custody certifications: Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®), Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). Our products are also FDA compliant. The Stevens Point mill has also achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration. ISO registration means that our technical specifications and manufacturing processes meet the precise criteria established by the International Organization for Standardization. 100 percent Environmental commitment At NewPage, we continually review our operations to ensure responsible environmental stewardship.
