Using Adobe Photoshop AND Adobe Illustrator, you will create a DVD cover for a self-made movie:
You can decide if you want movie to be a Drama, Suspence, Horror, Comedy, Romantic Comedy, etc.
Then, you will complete the entire “jacket” for the DVD: Front Cover, Back, and Spine with original
imagery.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
The cover of the movie acts as an Advertisement:
- WHO is your TARGET AUDIENCE?
- WHICH actors will fit with your genre?
- WHERE will your movie take place?
- WHEN will your movie take place?
- WHAT do you need to portray to help sell your DVD?
YOUR DESIGN MUST INCLUDE
1 - A continuous design for the Front Cover, Back Cover, and the Spine.
2 - An obvious genre for the film, with evidence of a target audience.
3 - A synopsis describing the plot of your film.
4 . The common components on DVD covers (DVD logo, credits, actors names, barcode, etc)
5 - Evidence of EACH of the Graphic Design Principles:
Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity
6 - Evidence of EACH of the Principles of Design:
Balance, Emphasis, and Unity
7 - All Photographs must be Manipulated using Adobe Photoshop.
8 - All typography and layout must be designed in Adobe Illustrator.
