Engine Overview
In April 2003, Hewlett-Packard® announced the release of the LaserJet® HP2300 series as the replacement for the HP2200 series
released in 2001 and now discontinued. The HP2300 series has six different models (2300L, 2300, 2300d, 2300n, 2300dn, and 2300dtn)
and is targeted at small- and medium-sized businesses with prices ranging from US$549-$1299.
All the printers deliver monochrome output up to 25 ppm except the base HP2300L model (up to 20 ppm). Other performance features include a first-page-out in less than 10 seconds and 1200 dpi (ProRes 1200) resolution. Each HP2300 model comes standard with
both 100- and 250- sheet enclosed input trays and can be equipped with optional trays which hold up to 850 sheets.
An all-in-one cartridge is available for all models and has an OEM-rated life of 6,000 pages. It utilizes a direct-contact chip with smart
technology that enables the end user to view toner levels and supply status information via the printer's embedded web server. The
cartridge is a different shape than the HP2100 cartridge, and it has been keyed so it will not fit into the HP2100/2200 printers.

HP2300 Smartek Chips
Static Control’s® MICR tab for the HP2300
is designed to work with Troy®MICR printers. These printers have a sensor that
interacts with the magnet located on the
cartridge. The printer sensor looks for a
certain polarity and magnet strength. If the
printer sensor does not find the magnet at
a certain location, it will not recognize the
cartridge and will not print. Our magnet
tab is glued to the cartridge waste bin and,
when used with MICR toner, allows customers to convert regular HP cartridges for
use in Troy® MICR printers.
SCC's smartek chip for the HP2300 enables critical printer functions including: cartridge identification, toner low/toner out
functionality, cartridge performance information and supplies
status information.

specifically engineered for our split
hopper cartridges and have eliminated the
need for rail foams and, in most cases, end

HP2300 Wiper Blade
Worn wiper blades may cause print defects such as streaking and
wear lines and are also prone to flipping. Most importantly, worn
blades won't clean the residual toner, leading to toner build-up on
the drum and PCR. Our HP2300 OEM-style blade insures optimum drum cleaning and blade durability.
