Engine Overview
In August 2003 HP released their replacement for the HP LaserJet® 1000 series printers, the HP1010, 1012 and 1015. Targeted at the
needs of small and medium businesses, these three laser printers are just one-half the size of those they replace. All boast a print
speed of 12 to 15ppm and feature HP's instant-on fuser, allowing for first page printing in less than 10 seconds.
The 1010, 1012 and 1015 are host-based printers, meaning the print job is rendered by the computer it is connected to rather than in
the printer itself. This allows the printer to perform with less memory, which reduces the initial price of the machine. The trade-off is
that print speed can vary with the content of the document and the processing speed of the host computer.
HP has added several new printers to their family of products. The most recent additions have a slightly higher print speed (15ppm vs
12ppm), but still utilize the same Q2612A cartridge. There is no chip on the cartridge and no toner sensing capability. The two halves
are held together with pins, requiring no special tooling for separation.

Static Control® now offers a doctor blade for the HP1010/1012/1015. This doctor
blade is also compatible with the HP1150, HP1200, HP1300, Canon® LBP 3200, and
Canon® FX-8 engines reducing inventory and lowering remanufacturing costs. An
adhesive strip on the underside of the doctor blade provides additional protection
against toner leakage.

Wiper blades are now available for the HP1010/1012/1015. SCC's wiper blades, along with toner and drum allow
remanufacturers to profit from the HP1010/1012/1015 market. It is important that Static offers durable wiper blade
