Note from Betty Jane, Helen Weldon's daughter:
Helen sustained a fall on Sunday, February 9, and fractured her hip. She had emergency surgery and
everything went very well. The hip was realigned and 'screwed' back together--non-invasive with one small
incision.
Latest update, March 17, regarding Helen: Good News! Mom had appointment with surgeon today and her
hip has healed very well, and he is authorizing as much weight-bearing as tolerable on her leg to physical
therapy today. Mom is saying she'll be home within two weeks...we'll see! I know she'll give it her all!
Thanks for all the cards, well wishes, and prayers...she's appreciated them all. (For newer members, Helen
has been with CNYBA from the beginning, and served as our membership chair for many years. She
continues to serve, though she cannot get to many meetings or events. We so appreciate her efforts.
Please remember our Chair of Sunshine Helen Weldon, 2446 Hillview Dr. #17, Cato, NY 13033
Here's the latest update on Ray Delaney's health: They have stopped
giving him chemo because it was making him so weak. The last scan,
however, showed that the tumor has grown slightly. So without the chemo
holding it back he needs our prayers more than ever. Although I think
personally all those good positive and loving thoughts and prayers have been
really what's helping him the most. So please do continue to pray for his
complete and total healing. Who better to go down in the books of those
miraculously cured than this wonderful man who has touched so many
lives? Also see the information about the 21st Annual Bluegrass Dinner on
the adjacent page!
Ron De Peyster is in the hospital in Florida and very ill. Ron and Rose definitely need our uplifting and
encouragement as well as our prayers. Their address where cards/letters can be sent is
Ron and Rose DePeyster Lot #F35, 2092 Culbreath Rd., Brooksville, FL 34602-6232
Please send Board member Kay Betts Von Sneidern your thoughts and prayers as she recovers from
knee replacement surgery.
The Robson family greatly cherished all the prayers, cards, and caring thoughts that came our way during
our mother’s illness and gentle journey into the arms of our Gracious Creator. Jean Robson mother of
current newsletter editor Betsy passed away surrounded by her family on February 19, 2014.

Delaney Brothers Bluegrass is looking forward to its 21st Annual Bluegrass Dinner Show on
Saturday, March 29. Held at the American Legion Hall on Main St. in downtown Homer, the
Delaney Brothers invite you to an evening of a tasty buffet dinner catered by the American Legion
and two sets of great bluegrass music including dessert between sets.
This year’s show is extra special because it will be the debut of the newest Delaney Brother –Luke
Parsnow. Luke is multi-talented on the guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and vocals, and he is a good song
writer as well. He will be a fabulous addition to the band. Luke will actually be a second generation
Delaney Brother-his father, Pat Parsnow, was banjo player in the original band in the early 1980’s.
Doors open at 6pm, dinner is at 7pm and music is from 8-10:30pm.
Be sure to call Vicky Delaney by Wed., March 26 for reservations (607) 745-9933 or (607) 753-8365.

I Heard The Bluebirds Sing - Jim & Jesse
“I met a girl out in the hills who gave my lonely heart a thrill
Her beauty seemed just like a breath of spring
And when I looked into her eyes,
I thought of bluer summer skies
And when I held her hand in mine I heard the bluebirds sing”
The Sweetest Song I Sing – Hot Rize
Was in the spring we met each other
And by chance a seed was sown
Now it's five years we've been together
And our love how big it's grown
You're the one who wears my ring
These hardtimes don't mean a thing
I may be poor but I'm a king
You are the sweetest song I sing
Come Spring
Before the roses have bloomed in my garden
I’ll be gathering flowers in a better land
Before the fields are green, before the robins sing
I’ll be gone to be with Jesus, come Spring
