In the heart of rural Gloucestershire lies the Great Tythe Barn. A truly quintessential English gem tucked away down a treelined driveway amidst 200 acres of privately owned land, making it a secluded and picturesque venue for all occasions.
The stunning Grade II listed, C16th Cotswold stone barn is the focal point of the Estate which is surrounded by former farm
buildings, now transformed into 10 self-catering cottages as well as Bed & Breakfast accommodation and the beautiful 5* 8
bedroom Tythe House.
Sympathetically restored, this historic Tythe barn retains many of its original features such as exposed stone walls and
wooden oak beams whilst incorporating 21st Century comforts such as under floor heating, tastefully decorated washrooms,
wooden flooring, atmospheric lighting and tall glass entrance doors to allow plenty of natural light and views of the courtyard.

Civil Ceremonies, Partnerships & Blessings
Choosing your ceremony location sets the tone for your day of celebration. We have several options for you to
choose, offering versatility depending on your guest numbers and wedding style. Alternatively, you may wish to
marry in a local church and join us for your wedding reception.
Newnton Gallery – seats up to 65 guests
Shipton – seats up to 100 guests
Estcourt – seats up to 200 guests
Tythe House Orangery - seats up to 60 guests.
(There are additional charges for the use of this as it is a separate building to The Great Tythe Barn)
Outdoor Gazebo - up to 7 witnesses inside the gazebo and an unlimited number of guests on the lawn
(Outdoor chairs need to be hired)
The Great Tythe Barn does not charge you extra for a Civil Ceremony however the Registrars will make an
additional charge to come out to the venue on the day.

Wedding Reception
Reception Drinks
Following your wedding ceremony enjoy your drinks reception on our beautiful lawn with the barn providing a
stunning back drop for that picture postcard wedding photo.
In inclement weather Newnton and the Estcourt Gallery provides a large area with exposed beams and comfy
leather sofas. With the back drop of the striking light canopy, it’s a perfect all-weather option.
The Wedding Breakfast
On the ground floor of the barn we can seat up to 200 dining guests for your wedding breakfast. Due to the
barn’s adaptability we have several seating arrangements which caters for all requirements.
All 3 of our amazing caterers will provide stunning menus to exceed your expectations and even help create a
bespoke menu to suit your style. Whether it be a traditional (or non-traditional if you choose) 3 course Wedding
Breakfast, Barbeque or Hog Roasts, there is something for everyone.

Evening Reception
In the evening the Great Tythe Barn transforms to a truly spectacular venue for an evening reception for up to
350 guests. The soft lighting in the barn sets the mood for your first romantic dance together as a married
couple.
Our stage and wooden dance floor provides an excellent space for band/DJ to set up and for your guests to
dance the night away until the early hours.

Packages
Weddings can easily become very costly and each couple have their own budgets to work to so we have a
variety of packages which will hopefully suite your requirements and budget. Please ask an event
coordinator more about these.

Wedding Reception Drinks Packages
Here at the Great Tythe Barn we operate our own fully stocked and staffed licensed bar with reasonable
prices which means no hassle for you. There are a couple of options when it comes to your wedding. You’re
welcome to either choose one of our drinks packages or bring your own and pay our corkage fee.
Mid Week Wedding Package based on £17.00 per person
Arrival – 1 glass of Bucks Fizz or Orange Juice
With your meal – 2 glasses of house wine per person (red or white mix)
Toast – 1 glass of Sparkling wine per person
Package A based on £19.25 per person
Arrival Drinks – 1 glass Bucks Fizz or Fruit juice
With your meal – ½ bottle of house wine per person (red and white mix)
Toast – 1 glass of sparkling wine
Package B based on £20.00 per person
Arrival Drinks – 1 glass of sparkling wine or fruit juice

Corkage
If you are supplying your own Wines and Champagne corkage will be charged at £7.50 per person.
Corkage covers:
 Sparkling for the reception drinks (post ceremony)
 Wine during the wedding breakfast
 Sparkling for the toast
Please note Pimms, Beers or other spirits are not included within the corkage fee but may be purchased through our bar.

Accommodation
Come and stay the night before the wedding and eliminate the stress of traffic jams and late arrival. You
can wake-up already on site with lots of time to get ready and maybe even browse around the nearby town
of Tetbury, just ½ a mile walk from us.
With 10 cottages, 12 B&B rooms and the 5* Country Manor house we have a whole host of options when
it comes to accommodation and can accommodate up to 90 guests on site.
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
Our 12 comfortable rooms comprise of doubles, twins and family rooms. Most rooms have superb views
over green fields with Tetbury in the distance.
Each room has an en-suite shower room and a range of amenities that include colour television, central
heating, and hairdryer and you will benefit from a lovely well prepared continental breakfast the following
morning.
Cottages
Our 10 beautiful cottages have been converted from period farm buildings are located around the
courtyard of The Great Tythe Barn providing accommodation for a total of 52 guests.
All cottages contain colour televisions, DVD players, and a built in oven, microwave, gas hob, fridge. Some
cottages even feature log burning stoves.
The Tythe House
The classical gem of a small Cotswold Manor House, built in the Queen Anne William and Mary style circa
1700, has been lovingly restored. Delightful in its practical simplicity, it consists of 3 spacious ground floor
reception rooms, a stunning country kitchen and 8 en-suite double bedrooms across 2 floors for 21st
Century comfort and living.
There is also a large Orangery that is connected to the house; it is a light magical space with glass roof
lanterns, French patio doors to the extensive private gardens. It is licenced for Civil Ceremonies with a
Travertine stone floor, effective heating and a log-burning fireplace.
