Winter - Bank of Springfield
insights Winter 2016 banking made easy! If youʼre like most people, youʼre very busy, so “easy” is important. Let BOS help you find a few spare minutes in 2016. We have some convenient products that will help you save time. eAlerts If you don’t want to spend time checking your accounts on a daily basis, let your accounts check in with you. eAlerts is a helpful feature you can select for any of your BOS accounts. Receive an alert when: • your account falls below a chosen balance; • a deposit has been received; • a check has posted; • your loan payment is due; • and more. To set up eAlerts, log in to your BOS online banking account and click the “eAlerts” tab. Choose which account you would like to set up and then select which alert you would like to receive. If you want to receive a text message, choose the alert that ends in “Mobile.” Otherwise, the alert will be sent to your secure email inside your BOS online banking account. Helpful Hint: Be sure your contact information is current for eAlerts to work properly. To verify your information, click the “User Information” link at the very top of your BOS online banking home screen. Checkfree Bill Payment Perhaps the most time and cost saving component to BOS online banking is the Checkfree Bill Payment feature. Pop Money Forgot to grab cash to pay the babysitter? No problem! Pop Money is an easy way to pay individual people through text or email. The first time you pay your bills online, you need to set up the billing information. To do this, log in to your BOS online banking account and click the “Pay Bills or People” tab. Then click “Add a Company or Person” and fill in the company’s information and the account number on your bill. Pop Money is a convenient way to: • pay for services such as your hair cut or dog grooming; • send money to your child at college; • send money as a gift to family or friends; • reimburse your friends for lunch; • pay rent to your landlord or roommate; and • any other time you need to send money. Once the company and account information is entered, you can pay bills. Simply enter the amount you want to pay next to the biller’s name, select the date you want the payment to be received and click the “Make Payments” button. You can also create reminders or set recurring payments to automatically send each month by clicking “AutoPay”. BOS even guarantees delivery of funds and resolves payment disputes with vendors. If you elect to receive eBills through online banking, you’ll receive automatic email alerts when bills are received. You can receive and store bills from select payees electronically or view your payment history in the Payment Center. To use Pop Money, log in to your BOS online banking account and click the “Pay Bills or People” tab. This will take you to the online Payment Center. Now click the “Pop Money” tab and fill out the information. You will need the email address of the person to whom you are sending money. They will receive an email that you paid them, as well as directions on how to accept the money. Pop Money also allows you to request and accept payments. Pop Money is easy and convenient, but there are a few things to keep in mind: Pop Money is a secure form of payment; it can take up to three business days for the money to transfer into the recipient’s account; and there is a nominal fee to use Pop Money. state banking board of illinois Governor Bruce Rauner recently appointed Tom Marantz (Bank of Springfield CEO and Chairman of the Board) to the State Banking Board of Illinois.
