President’s Message
ACI Members,
As 2014 comes to a close, I look back on all of our chapter’s hard work to
bring our members seminars for CEU/PDH credits as well as training to become
certified concrete field testing technicians & concrete flatwork finishers/
craftsmen. We hope you have found our focus for this year appropriate to your
needs in the field of concrete construction. Our chapter officers certainly value
your suggestions as it relates to training & education.
In January of 2015, we will hold our Annual Membership Meeting & we
will continue to take entries for our Awards Program for the next few weeks
through December 11, 2014 & look forward to all the interesting projects that
have been completed in the past 3 years in our state. The entry form can be accessed at the chapter website, www.arkansaschapteraci.org, or on pages 5-6 of
this newsletter. All entries should be sent to 10025 W. Markham, Suite 140 Little Rock, AR 72205.
I would like to thank all of our officers for their hard work & commitment
because we have the best team out of all state chapters of ACI. I want to remind
everyone that the next ACI National Convention will be held in Kansas City, MO
from April 12-16, 2015. This is so close to home that we can easily drive to the
event. Don’t let the opportunity slip by to attend this convention & build a network of friends & learning as much about concrete as possible. We appreciate
all our members & want to serve you
better. Please let us know in the final
weeks of 2014 how we can serve you
even better in 2015.

Fall is in the air & it is time for ACI Field Testing Certification again. We
have three exams scheduled this fall, first in Little Rock on Oct. 8 & 9, then
Fayetteville on Oct. 21 & 22 & our final session will be on Oct. 31 in Jonesboro. Thanks to the industry volunteers who make these certification programs
successful. We have two seminars scheduled for November, one in Texarkana
& another in Fort Smith. The Mid-Year Meeting was a great success & continues to be a highlight of the year.
Get ready to celebrate our 50th Annual Convention which will be held
March 12, 13 & 14, 2015 in Hot Springs. Mark your calendar you will not want
to miss this convention.
