CollegeInvest turns 30 this year!
Introducing the College In Colorado
Partner Network
For three decades, CollegeInvest has
served as Colorado’s not-for-profit higher
education financing resource, helping
families across the state pay for college
through scholarships, matching grants,
student loan forgiveness, college savings
plans, outreach programs and planning tools.
To mark the 30th anniversary milestone, this year CollegeInvest
will give away $30,000 in anniversary scholarships. Look for
CollegeInvest in your area!
One of the most frequent requests from those committed to
helping Colorado’s students is a clearinghouse of information
and resources – a network for sharing knowledge and ideas.
College In Colorado launched the College In Colorado Partner
Network, an interactive “Wiki-style” site designed to connect
and provide resources to educators across the state. The
site, www.CICPartnerNetwork.org, offers the opportunity to
author articles about programs, share ideas and practitioner
information, and modify content in a proactive manner.

CollegeInvest Introduces Ugift® –
A great way for family and friends to help
YOU save for your child’s college costs
Celebrate your child’s special occasions
by inviting family and friends to give the
gift of higher education with Ugift. The
CollegeInvest Direct Portfolio College
Savings Plan now offers the ability for you to invite family and
friends to easily make contributions to your children’s college
savings account. Celebrate birthdays, religious events, holidays,
and other occasions such as graduating from one grade to
another, or receiving good grades. Remember, the gift of higher
education lasts a lifetime, unlike most other gifts.
Visit www.collegeinvest.org/Ugift for more information.
Important Considerations
To learn about CollegeInvest’s 529 program, its objectives, risks,
charges, limitations, restrictions and qualifications regarding
the Plans’ benefits and potential tax advantages, please read
the Program Disclosure Statements (PDS) available at www.
collegeinvest.org. Also, check with your home state to learn if it offers
tax or other benefits for investing in its own plan. CollegeInvest and

PARTNER
NETWORK
The Wiki sections include:
• Calendar – A place for users to post events, meetings and conferences being held across the state.
• Educators in Action – A best practices forum for education professionals.
• Community Partner Services – A clearinghouse for users to post news, questions and updates on academic success methods, career preparation, professional development and post-secondary/college preparation.
• Community Partner Directory – A directory of links to partner websites and other useful websites of interest.
• Policy Matters – Updates on policy issues that affect the post-secondary education community.
We invite you to join us and hope that you will contribute your
expertise to www.CICPartnerNetwork.org. We believe that
this Website, with your help, will become Colorado’s one-stop
shop for educational practitioners.

K Featured Outreach Employee K
Kaylynn Hemlock, Community
Relations Manager, began her
career with CollegeInvest in 1997.
Over the years she has held various
positions, including operations
supervisor
and
operations
representative for the 529 College
Savings Program. Working at
CollegeInvest for over a decade has
been a lifetime learning experience. “They’ve provided me with
the opportunities to learn, grow and be successful,” said Kaylynn.
Kaylynn currently serves the northern part of Colorado,
representing CollegeInvest as the higher education financing
resource to parents and students at workshops and events. “My
job is one of the most rewarding jobs, knowing each time I speak
to a group of students, that I have encouraged them to pursue
their dreams, aspirations and a college education. That’s the best
feeling in the world,” said Kaylynn.
Kaylynn is a Colorado native born and raised in the metro area. She
is a wife and mother of two children, Myranda and Matthew. Her
children’s education is very important to her. She talks to them
everyday about the importance of a good education. “Working
at CollegeInvest has also provided me with the knowledge to
save for my children’s college expenses. In 1997, I opened my first
529 college savings account for my daughter. This was one of the
best investments I could have made,” said Kaylynn.
In her spare time, Kaylynn loves watching her children play sports,
jogging, biking, traveling and spending time with friends and
family.
