PUT A NEW SPIN
TO YOUR WORKOUT
With Our New Green
Series Spin Bikes we
have been coordinating
special rides to boost
the fun in exercise.
This past month we
had special rides such
as our Glow Ride, Halloween Ride, Breakfast Club and 80’s
day. We are launching early morning classes and more
evening classes for our members. Our new personal trainer,
Ellen Poe, does a strength and spin class on Thursday
mornings if you are looking for more than just a cardio
session. If you have not had a chance to try our new spin
bikes, maybe it is time to
put a spin to your workout
and join the fun!! Look for
the spin schedule outside
of the spin room, at our
welcome center or on our
website at www.chbgy.org.
STRENGTH AND
BALANCE
In general we take our balance for
granted, but it is a significant and
vital part of our daily life. Though
our balance will decline as we age,
balance activities, balance exercises
and balance training can limit the
loss or improve our performance.
That is what our Strength and
Balance class is trying to combat
in our senior population, if you are
65 years and older and looking for
a way to improve your balance,
strength, and flexibility this is the
class for you.
YOU CAN BE A BRIGHT SPOT IN A CHILD’S LIFE
Continue Sam Kessinger’s Legacy
The YMCA’s Sam’s Program began with the dream of one man. A Chambersburg business owner and
YMCA member, Mr. Ernest “Sam” Kessinger, wanted to ensure the YMCA would be accessible for all
children. In 1956, he began transporting children in his station wagon to the YMCA
for fun and fellowship. Sam brightened the lives of many children in our community.
Through the generosity of our community, the Y has been able to continue this
impactful program for almost 60 years.
THE SMITH
You can continue his legacy this Christmas season by brightening the lives of the
children enrolled in the Sam’s Program. Make a donation in $5.00 increments and
have your name or in honor/memory of a loved one written on a Christmas bulb
cutout that will be displayed in the main lobby.
FAMILY
Please stop by the Y’s Welcome Center today to brighten a child’s life this Christmas.
Donations, along with your desired inscription, can be mailed to 570 E. McKinley Street, Chambersburg,
PA 17201- attention Amy Lynch.
