What does aftercare mean?
• The care and support a family receives while
in the hospital continues indefinitely.
• Currently we have more than 6,000 families in
our program.
• Each year approximately 600 new families are
added to our program.
Our role with families
• To act as an advocate for donor families
• To provide support to donor families in the
months and years following the donation
• To honor donors and donor families for the
Gift of Life
• To provide an opportunity for donor families
to share their experience with others – an
outlet for healing

Donor Families & Recipients
“We had one very brave recipient write to us so far, and I
cannot express what that letter and card means to me. It
is so comforting to know the outcome for the kidney
recipient David was able to help. Hearing from him made
it more real, and makes us once again so proud of David.”
