Adoption - Model Based Enterprise (MBE)
MBE is a process of reusing the
3D CAD model by all of the
downstream customers verses
recreating or reentering the
data it contains. This model
contains all of the information
needed to define the product.
Data can be automatically
extracted by non-CAD users,
thus replacing a traditional
drawing.

This is done utilizing various tools
commonly available at
no cost to the user
and in a CAD agnostic format,
allowing even the
smallest supplier to utilize this
delivery method without
additional software.

If properly implemented,
nonrecurring costs
can be cut
between 50% and 70%
and the
time to market reduced
by as much as 50%.

Adoption – MIL-STD-31000
MBE has been proven to dramatically
cut both the nonrecurring costs
needed to produce a product, as well
as the time needed to bring it to
market. For these reasons, the
Department of Defense (DoD) has
begun to adopt it for many of its new
contracts.
MIL-STD-31000 provides
requirements for the deliverable data
products associated with a technical
data package (TDP) and its related
TDP data management products.

Acrobat SDK
•  The Acrobat SDK is a set of tools for developing
software that interacts and integrates with Acrobat and
Adobe Reader technology in several ways:
•  JavaScript — Write scripts, either in an individual PDF
document or externally, to extend the functionality of Acrobat
or Adobe Reader.
•  Plug-ins — Create plug-ins that are dynamically linked to and
extend the functionality of Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
•  Interapplication Communication — Write a separate
application process that uses interapplication communication
(IAC) to control Acrobat functionality.

Javascript SDK
•  One of the easiest and most powerful ways to
customize PDF files
•  JavaScript code can be attached to a specific PDF
document, a page, field, or button within that
document, or a field or button within a PDF file, and
even to a user action.
•  API's to customize the behavior of a particular PDF
document, implement security policies, interact with
3D data, and dynamically alter the appearance of a PDF
document.
