Aerofit make many thousands of different part numbers for different applications and programs.
Some of these are proprietary parts, others are to industry standard patterns. In order to navigate
the maze of available options it is helpful to distinguish three characteristics in addition to the
system operating pressure.
•
The physical layout of the fluid system determines the configuration – or fundamental shape of the
fitting – for example tee-pieces, elbows, straight fittings, bulkhead adapters.
•
The manner of attachment of the fittings to the tube is often determined by historical
considerations, each OEM traditionally having a favored method.
•
There is also the choice of interface between separable fittings (or the choice of a permanent
connection). The 37o flared tube interface is still widely used although often supplanted by the
81/2? ?Beam Seal in military applications and by 24o Flareless fittings in civil aerospace.

A Flareless Sleeve that bites into the tubing and can be assembled without special
tools.
Meets the requirements of specification MIL-F-8280.
Aerofit Products has tested and qualified these sleeves to specification requirements
and is listed as an approved source in qualified products list QPL-18280.
The material of the sleeves is low carbon steel precision case hardened by a proprietary
Aerofit Products process to meet the restrictive requirements of the specification. The
hardened sleeves are cadmium plated.
