1920
1970
At the beginning of the XX Century Mr.
Silvio Andrea Morando starts the activity
of manufacturing the first machines for
the brick factories. In 1920 comes Morando the first company able to propose
an entire line of machines and equipment for the bricks manufacturing.
In the 70’s Morando reached his maximum dimension with facilities of over
80.000 sq.m., 1.400 employers, 340 high
level technicians, 5 site abroad among
which Morando Brazil, 5.000 plants supplied all over the world, the biggest R&D
department in the field.
2000
Morando moves in the more modern facilities of Asti, in 2006 joins the Legris Group, in 2009 all the
manufacturing of the brand name Rieter machine is relocated from Germany to Asti.

RIETER
Since 2011 the main task in service, maintenance and spare parts dispatch, is handled, as usual, quickly and
reliably from Konstanz. Furthermore, in cooperation with the customers, solutions are developed and realized
to match with their requirements and conditions, benefiting of a deep cooperation with the colleagues of the
company Morando in Asti, where the machines of the two well-known brands are built on most modern
production plants.
1874
1900
The Rieter-Werke, one of the oldest and
most well-known representatives of the
brick machinery industry, was founded in
1874 in Konstanz under Swiss management.
At the World Fair in Paris in 1900, the
first wet grinding pan and the first revolving roof tile press were introduced successfully. In 1911, at the World Fair in
Turin, the enterprise was the only one in
its field which was awarded the “Grand
Prix”.
In 1898 the Swiss Arthur Rieter acquired
the plant and gave it his name. With the
joining of Mr. Arthur Rieter the assorted
production of the company was changed
to the special manufacturing of brick machinery and transportation equipment.
In 1939, Dipl. Ing. Walter Händle, whose
family and brands are well known in third
generation and leading in brick machinery manufacturing, purchased the company.
The name Rieter enjoys an excellent
reputation as innovative as well as reliable partner of the ceramic industry
worldwide and stands for cost-effectiveness, efficiency and high product quality.

OUR PRODUCTION, OUR HEART
It has always been our pride design and produce internally what we sale,
to see the product growing up since the first drawings and piece up
the completed machine is our satisfaction.
THE FACILITIES
The size of our facilities is over 10.000 sq.m., equipped with robots for the manufacturing (welding and hard
facing) of wearing parts, CNC machines, with an assembling department well organize and efficient, provided
with a stock of spare part with over 11.000 parts.

THE TEAM
The staff is for sure the most relevant strength of Morando. The team of Asti and Konstanz is composed of
roughly 100 people, among which over 20 between technicians and engineers. Over 14 people working in Morando for over 30 years, 8 young with less than 30 years, staff turnover very low.
