1920
1970
At the beginning of the twentieth
century, Mr. Silvio Andrea Morando
started the activity, manufacturing the
2rst machines for the brick factories. In
1920 Morando became the 2rst company
able to propose an entire line of machines
and equipment for the bricks manufacturing.
In the 70's Morando reached its maximum
dimension, with facilities of over 80.000
sq.m., 1.400 employees, 340 high-level
technicians, 5 sites abroad herewith including Morando Brazil, 5.000 plants supplied all over the world, the biggest R&D
department in the 2eld.
2000
Morando moves in the more modern facilities of Asti. In 2006 it becomes part of the French Group Legris Industries.
In 2009 all the manufacturing of the Rieter brand-name machines is relocated to Asti. Today the joint team
grants for the integration and combination of German Engineering and Italian Production Know How.

RIETER
Since 2011 the main task in service, maintenance and spare parts dispatch, is handled, as usual, quickly
and reliably from Konstanz. Furthermore, in cooperation with the customers, solutions are developed and
realized to match with their requirements and conditions, bene&ting of a deep cooperation with the
colleagues of the company Morando in Asti, where the machines of the two well-known brands are built
on most modern production plants.

1874
1900
The Rieter-Werke, one of the oldest and
most well-known representatives of the
brick machinery industry, was founded in
1874 in Konstanz under Swiss management.
At the World Fair in Paris in 1900, the 2rst
wet grinding pan and the 2rst revolving
roof tile press were introduced successfully. In 1911, at the World Fair in Turin,
the enterprise was the only one in its 2eld
which was awarded the “Grand Prix”.
In 1898 the Swiss Arthur Rieter acquired
the plant and gave it his name. With the
joining of Mr. Arthur Rieter the assorted
production of the company was changed
to the special manufacturing of brick
machinery and transportation equipment.
In 1939, Dipl. Ing. Walter Händle, whose
family and brands are well known in third
generation and leading in brick machinery
manufacturing, purchased the company.
The name Rieter enjoys an excellent
reputation as innovative as well as reliable partner of the ceramic industry
worldwide and stands for cost-e&ectiveness, e"ciency and high product quality.

It has always been our pride to design and produce internally what
we sell. To see the products growing up since the &rst drawings and
pieces up to the completed machine is our satisfaction.
THE FACILITIES
The size of our facilities is over 10.000 sq.m., equipped with robots for the manufacturing (welding and hard
facing) of wearing parts, CNC machines, with an assembly department well organized and e"cient, provided
with a stock of spare parts with over 11.000 components.

Over 6.000 of Morando and Rieter machines
installed since 1970 to today all over the

OUR LAND
People say that our land is our origin. The Asti territory, well known all
over the world for his top-level wines, is composed of fertile hills where
you can &nd the clay everywhere. Only here could be born Morando, one
of the most important companies expert in the clay preparation.
THE REGION OF ASTI
is formed by a succession of hills that generate a relaxing approach, the particularity of the territory blends well with nature. The harmonious
geometry of the vineyards marks the boundary of the fertile hills where on their tops you can 2nd farms and castles. From this land comes the
wine well known throughout the world. Asti in fact is often synonymous of wine. But the city of Asti is also known for its traditions and its
folklore. Every year in September, the inhabitants of the region of Asti get excited for the Palio. The festivals of the medieval era are evoked by
reproducing the splendor of the past of a city's prestige. A walk through the historic center can evoke emotions, like a short trip outside the
walls towards the ancient Roman church of Viatosto where you can enjoy the view of the whole City.
Asti is art and culture, as evidenced by its monuments, and is also gastronomy with its traditional dishes.

THE REGION OF KONSTANZ
Konstanz is situated on the river Rhine, which originates from the Swiss Alps and ows through the Lake of Konstanz, dividing the city
in two. The Old City is limited to the south from the border with Switzerland. The University of Konstanz , founded in 1966, is one of
the most important in Germany and is attended by more than 10,000 students. The library of Konstanz is presently the major one in
Germany. Konstanz is a lively city where you can spend your holiday deep in a relaxed landscape, making boat excursions or strolling
along the lake banks .
Very interesting to be visited is the original Münster (Cathedral), the Rathaus of sixteenth century with its magni2cent frescoes of the
nineteenth, the House of the Council of the fourteenth century, the regional museum Rosgartenmuseum and the Museum Hus.

KELLER HCW designs and produces highly e"cient

the locations KELLER HCW (Laggenbeck) and Novoceric (Mellrichstadt). A strong team of engineers and
specialists as well as a modern ceramic laboratory is
the basis for the elaboration and implementation of
technical solutions of high quality.
Business unit KELLER MSR (automation & measurement technology)
You can count on many years of experience for designing and producing high-quality solutions regarding the non-contact temperature measurement for
the heavy clay industry as well as for further industrial 2elds like automation of bulk goods processes,
mills for grinding grains and mixed feed plants.

The Division KELLER o&ers an extensive service for all
