In this bulletin, there is a TSB group change from Body Electrical System (BE) to Restraints System (RT). DESCRIPTION: If the Supplemental Restraint System Control Module (SRSCM) in the Genesis Coupe is replaced during service or accident repair, the unit must be programmed using the Hyundai Global Diagnostic System (GDS) before the vehicle is released to the customer. This bulletin outlines the procedures required to program the SRSCM using the GDS. Two procedures are provided: • Pages 2 - 5 describe the programming procedure to use when the GDS is connected to the Internet. • Pages 6 - 11 describe the programming procedure to use when the GDS is not connected to the Internet (Manual Coding). It will be necessary to access the hmaservice.com web site to retrieve the 4 digit “ACU Coding code” for this procedure. APPLICABLE VEHICLES: Model: All Genesis Coupe (BK) NOTE: The GDS menus refer to the SRSCM programming process as “ACU Variant Coding,” where ACU is an acronym for Airbag Control Unit. SRSCM and ACU both refer to the Supplemental Restraint System Control Module. NOTE: GDS Update Version 1.601 must be installed prior to performing the programming procedure. Previous versions do not support ACU Variant Coding. Page 1 of 13 NOTE: The “Passenger Air Bag Off” indicator lamp connector must be connected prior to performing the programming procedure; the procedure cannot be performed if the indicator lamp is disconnected. SERVICE PROCEDURE: SRSCM/ACU Programming Procedure when GDS is connected to the Internet: 1. Connect the GDS unit to the vehicle, select the vehicle model and then select the “AIRBAG” icon. Enter the vehicle’s 17 digit VIN number and select “OK”. 7. The following the screen will be displayed: Select “OK” Page 5 of 13 8. When the variant coding process is complete, the following screen will be displayed Select “OK”. The coding procedure is now complete. SRSCM/ACU Programming Procedure when GDS is not connected to internet: 1. To identify the variant coding code for the vehicle, go to the hmaservice.com website and choose “Vehicle Info”.
