I also understandthat you have the right to show the apartmentto any prospectivetenant prior to
my vacating the apartmentas long as a WHA representativeis present.
If I vacate prior to the above-mentioneddate I will notify the office and return the keys to the
apartment. Upon the return of keys I may request an appointment in writing to meet with a
Watervliet Housing Authority representative to inspect premises, but no later than my oflicial
date mentioned above. After I vacate I understandthe locks will be changed. I also rcalize that any
belongingsabandonedwill becomethe propertyof the WatervlietHousing Authority to disposeof as we
seefit. Electricity (any accountsthat are paid by the tenant)will be the responsibilityof the tenantuntil
the date of vacateor the return of the keys to the apartment.
Your securify deposit will be returned after the report is submitted to the office and after
the notification of any charges from maintenance. It takes 30 days to process your security
deposit.

VACATING YOUR APARTMENT
Paragraph20 of your leaserequiresyou to give us written notice of the date on
which you will move out, at least 30 days before the move. You may not remain in your
unit beyond the move - out date in your notice unlessyou first get written consentfrom
the Authority. If you do not vacatethe apartmentby said date; you will be chargedfor an
additional month's rent. In the event you vacatethe apartmentbefore your move - out
dateyou must notifu the office and retum all keys to the apartment. Keys can be returned
to the office Monday through Friday betweenthe hoursof 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. After
the move - out the locks will be changedand any belongings abandonedwill become
property of the Authority to disposeof as we seefit. Upon retum of the keys tenantsmay
requestan appointment (no later than the move - out date) in writing to meet with a
Watervliet Housing Authority representativeto inspect the apartment.
To obtain a full and prompt refund of your security deposit, your unit must be
tumed over to us in the condition it was in at move - in, except for normal wear and tear.
Paragraph9 of your leaseallows us to subtractthe cost of repairing any intentional or
negligent damagesto the dwelling unit causedby the tenant,the tenants family,
dependents,or guests,and any rent or other chargesowed by the tenant. You will also be
chargedfor any excessivecleaning that may be required, such as with the refrigerator or
stove,and any excessivegarbageleft in the premises.Tenantswishing to disposeof
large items must call the office to arrangepick - up.
Tenantsare not allowed to monopolize the elevators(Hanratta) or drive moving
vans or any other vehicle on the grounds.
Also, for your convenienceyou can drop off your cablebox at the office. Before
you leaveyou must receivea receiptfor the box so therewill be no confusionin
receivingcredit.
