It is essential that redevelopment efforts encourage a variety of uses that will attract localSE REEDWAY
and ST
non-local residents
to work, shop, and play in the LTC. With specific improvements, the Foster - Woodstock Couplet presents a unique
SE REEDWAY ST
opportunity for the business district to exploit existing traffic patterns to attract customers to keystone businesses.
The couplet has the capacity to function as a commercial gateway to the town center. Currently, many visitors
to Lents pass through the area via the couplet and are unaware of the businesses in the LTC. ForFOthis reason, it
STE
R
D
is important to mark the entry to the town center with gateway elements to create awareness about theROAchanging
character of the LTC. It is recommended that the western entry to the couplet be reinforced with strong mixed-use
development that departs from the established character of many existing Foster Road businesses. The eastern entry
to the town center, beneath the I-205 overpass should be signaled with the completion of the Gateway Art Project.

The redevelopment scenarios presented in this study support the development of an active mixed-use town
