When in 2007 a Baron and his wife inherited the estate, their aim was to maintain the family tradition and to
continue to make Gliacasa a dream location for guests who long for a rest from the daily hectic. They wished to
maintain a typical Tuscan countryside atmosphere by keeping its authenticity whilst introducing modern facilities
and more comfort.
Thanks to the initiative of the new owners and thanks to the support of the community, the conditions of the very
old buildings were improved by renovating most of the roofs.
The baron and baroness also created more apartments in the existing buildings due to the growing request. Many
more new olive trees were planted as the fertile grounds and the climatic conditions of Gliacasa makes the olive oil
worth producing.
The very old cemetery of the estate has been renovated as well as the Chapel of Saint Lucy, reviving an old
tradition of the feast of Santa Lucia and its surroundings.
In spite of its size (with 400 hectares of ground Gliacasa is one of the largest agri-touristic estates in Tuscany), it
has remained a family operation with charm and personality. Andreas and Marianna Weihrauch Di Pauli von
Treuheim with their family desire this continues.
The reception
The reception is open every-day from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. On Sundays the reception is
open from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. For urgent matters you will find telephone numbers in the information booklet in your
apartment.In the reception you will find information about interesting events in the surroundings as well as
restaurant tips. Tennis-rackets and tennis-balls, ping-pong rackets and balls, billiard sticks and balls can be picked
up in the reception. We are glad to be at your service for all kinds of need.
Fresh bread and eggs
For breakfast, we offer you our bread-service: from a list, which you will find in the reception, you may choose
different kind of Italian bread types. Apart from white bread and cereal bread, we offer you typical Tuscan
schiaccata as well as Pizza´s and sweet brioche, beloved start of the day by Italians.
You can order the bread the day before the deliverance and your fresh bread will be brought to your door the next
morning. Eggs can be bought as well at the spot, or if you wish, delivered to your door for breakfast.
Boutique
Our boutique offers the recognized "Montescudaio D.O.C." as well as our own extra virgin olive oil, of golden green
colour, its rich aroma tasting slightly like almonds and sometimes even like peach.
The luxury Tuscan land-life offers, is the high quality of local products rich of taste and healthy ingredients, and that
in each season of the year. In every market you will find the freshest cheese products, colourful fruits and
vegetables well treated under the Italian sun, fresh fish and meat.
You will find typical regional products in the small grocery store in Casino di Terra (3 km), or in various big
supermarkets in Cecina (15 km) where you can find high quality food.
Laundry
The apartments will be prepared with clean bed linen and towels as well as kitchen towels and table-cloth. If your
stay will last more than one week, you will receive a change of fresh bed linen and towels.
We recommend to bring your own towels for the swimming-pool and the beach. There are two washing machines at
the Tenuta you may use. Upon payment your apartment can be cleaned during your stay.
At the day of your departure, please make sure your appartment is left in an orderly condition. After your
departure, final cleaning will be done which is included in the price of your apartment.
Learn Italian
Would you like to understand a menu in a restaurant, to gain an understanding of how we live in Italy or do you
wish to deepen one's own culture?
Would you like to be able to participate actively in social life, in the short or long period spent in Italy?
If your answer is "yes", we can offer Italian language courses in which each student can choose the mode that is
most suited to him or her to learn Italian. Our teacher, Marta offers not only established and effective courses of
general Italian, but also personal solutions to meet the needs of the student. You will find everything you need,
from grammar, conversation and specific language areas, to a more "holiday" approach. Marta is ready to teach
one student or in small groups.

This apartment is located on the first floor, accommodates 4 persons and consist of:

The last 1.5km of the road is made of gravel.
Posti da visitare e altre cose da fare...
Within 20 min. by car you can reach the Etruscan Riviera. Beautiful wide sandy beaches but also steep cliffs await
you there. Beaches in Baratti Populonia and in Bolgheri Oasis with the moving dune (16 m high) are also worth
seeing. In Cecina Mare there is a Surf School Centre Spot1 where you can rent sailboats, catamarans.
From Glicasa you can easily visit the historical Tuscan cities such as: Florence (1 and a half hour by car), Lucca,
Siena (1 hour by car), San Gimignano (45 min. by car), Pisa (45 min. by car), Volterra, Livorno on the sea (30 min.
by car). The country of Chianti is also worth seeing. You may discover Italian trading places, participate in the local
traditional feasts as the famous horse raise Palio in Siena, Maggio Musicale in Florence or colorful feasts in small
villages.
