All other end panels in the Aspen range are solid;
three vertical hardwood pilasters are inset against a
grade “A” veneered face. A 13⁄4” x 21⁄2” eased
hardwood edge frames each panel, their horizontal
members overlapping the vertical.
Back panels and mid panels are grade “A”
veneered particleboard. All external edges receive an
eased solid hardwood band, and shelves feature the
added detail of a solid hardwood valence. Back panels
end 3” above the floor.

R esilient .050” thick high-pressure plastic laminate is

enwrapped with a slightly radiused solid hardwood
band. The long and/or front edges of display tables,
index tables, PAC tables and all carrels receive a
3
⁄4” x 15⁄8” external band.
Rectangular reading tables feature 23⁄4” x 11⁄4” edge
bands along the short sides (square reading tables
along all sides), and 3⁄8” x 11⁄4” bands along the long.
Circular reading tables receive a 1⁄4” x 11⁄4” edge band.
Work surfaces of tables and carrels may be fitted
with 3” diameter grommets and with various electrical
options including steel J-channels for wire maintenance.

FRAMES AND LEGS
T he tabletops of Fusion reading tables (square and

rectangular), PAC tables, index tables, study carrel
tables and display tables float 2” atop a sleek 16-gauge
steel frame. Comprised of 2” x 2” hollow legs and
horizontal stretchers, the frame secures to the
underside of tabletops via a steel pintel and plate
assembly. All welds and grinds are smoothed, and
each frame is painted using an electro-statically
applied epoxy powder for lasting resiliency.
Carrel legs are 16-gauge tubular steel, finished in
a powder epoxy and topped with a steel cap. Each is
fitted with keyhole screws to allow assembly in one-,
two-, three-, and four-way configurations.

a striking 5⁄8” “knife-edge,” which is then eased.
All four corners are mitered at a 45-degree angle.

steel tube stretchers, angled downward to assemble
with Linear’s steel frame (see below).
Work surfaces may be fitted with 3” diameter
grommets and steel J-channels for wire maintenance.

S teel and hardwood work in tandem to create

Linear’s stylish frame. Hexagonal chamfered solid
wood legs embrace a 11⁄2” diameter 16-gauge tubular
steel post that extends 2” beyond the wood at top and
bottom. In table designs, these posts are welded to a
21⁄2” diameter horizontal top frame, which protrudes
from the short ends of work surfaces by 31⁄2”.
To ensure lasting resiliency, all steel components
receive a baked powder epoxy enamel treatment that
is available in a variety of textured finishes.

The Vista table’s work surface is comprised of durable,
high-pressure plastic laminate and bordered with an
eased, solid 2” edgeband. The edgeband’s underside
receives a solid 2” trim piece detail, inset 1” from the
edge. Bolstered by the legs, the trim piece conceals the
table’s mechanical assembly.

A hybrid of two eucalyptus species, Lyptus

exhibits the
density of maple and the appearance of mahogany. But
unlike these premium hardwoods, which take decades to
reach maturity, Lyptus® can be harvested in just 14 to 16
years. This is because the wood thrives in the warm
climate of Brazil, where it is plantation-grown among
reintroduced indigenous trees to preserve the natural
habitat. For these reasons, Lyptus® wood represents a
fully sustainable and renewable resource. It allows our
industry to meet the demand without depleting the

of each square leg creates an elegant profile. Made of
solid, 2-3/8” hardwood, the legs accept two horizontal
rails along the short sides of the table. In a design detail
reminiscent of the Mission style, these rails buttress 8
quadralinear posts. Braced between the two lower rails is
a solid rectangular stretcher, which completes the table’s
robust, yet balanced, silhouette.
