Changes for 2016-2017
As most of you know we have a new Rulebook in 2016-2017. A new Rulebook
brings many changes. I strongly advise you to read through your Rulebook and
become familiar with the changes. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact
the Office. I know a lot of people ask for insight on Social Media but the answers you
receive are not reliable. For the most accurate and up to date information contact the
Office.

Check out the New Classes for 2016:
Cow Catching & Ranchmanship
Cow Catching is a timed event where one cow will be
turned into the arena, when either the cow or exhibitor
crosses the timeline the exhibitor will have two (2) loops or
30 seconds to rope the cow. Full class explanation can be
found on page 103 in your Rulebook.
Ranchmanship – This is a combination class of Ranch
Riding, Ranch Reining, and Ranch Trail. We have set up 4
patterns to choose from. This class was designed to highlight
an all around horse with quality of movement and the
horsemanship skills of the exhibitor in mind.

American Ranch Horse Association
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is excited to join up with the ARHA and be a part of the
2016 World Show! The Mustang Breed provides a loyal and durable mount for any ranching need and
can be adopted or purchased from multiple locations available nationwide. Don't forget the burros
too! Burros make wonderful companion animals and provide a great predator protection service.
The BLM protects and manages America’s wild horses and burros under the authority of the Wild Free
-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 to ensure that healthy herds thrive on healthy public
lands. The BLM’s goal is for wild horse and burro herd populations to be consistent with the land’s
capacity to support them and for wild horses and burros to thrive in balance with other public land uses
and resources, including vegetation and wildlife. When populations are out of balance, the excess
animals are removed and prepared for placement into private care.
