CT Rush Philosophy Rush believes that the cliché “the game is the best teacher”, is a creed to live by. 90% of our work is done on the practice field. This is where all of the players are challenged, placed under pressure and are given a vast amount of important information to be successful in games. We give all of our players as many tools as possible that during games which is seen as the test, the players have an adequate amount of tools necessary in order to be successful. We do not believe in standing on the sidelines screaming at our players, instead we encourage problem solving but we do have moments where we provide our players with necessary information. The Rush Way to Play The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball. Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does. Whether in possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush players play with freedom yet understand the importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose Coach Education This is a fundamental part of success. At CT Rush we believe that the education of our players comes first from the education of the coaches. The commitment from Rush to educate our coaches and employees is of the highest priority. Coaches are a huge part of player development and need to constantly learn to find effective ways of teaching the game in order to promote player growth and success at all levels. The CT Rush staff hold weekly informational and educational sessions to ensure that even at the highest level of coaching and administration within the organization there is still continuing growth and the desire to improve. Coaches’ educational sessions include, meetings, coaches’ clinics, session plans, coaches’ evaluation, feedback & coaching licensing. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors for supporting our programs! 13 ! Player Development At CT Rush, we are constantly looking for different ways to develop our players and place them in environments where they can mature into talented soccer player and improve their soccer knowledge. It is important for all of our players to be confident and comfortable whenever they step foot onto the soccer field. We work tirelessly to ensure that our players are placed in a fun but competitive environment where they are not afraid of making mistakes. We encourage our players to be creative without the fear of failure in addition to being comfortable on the ball. We acknowledge every player as an individual and take into consideration that different players have different learning styles therefore our coaches’ approach to the players may vary in order to maximize each players potential. Whether your son/daughter needs a more direct coaching approach where they are constantly places under pressure and challenged or they need to be taken aside and set personal goals to build their confidence. Greeting The Rush staff across the country expect there players to shake their coaches hand each time they meet. We even expect the player to give each other hi-fives at the beginning and end of each practice! Why?...respect, build social skills, break down barriers, learn culturally excepted behavior, the list goes on. Practice vs Games Practice and game attendance is optional for all levels of player within the Rush Organization. Players who wish to become better and succeed within the game will attend as many practices and games as possible with the attitude of wanting to leave a better player.
