Makita is a global manufacturer of professional and consumer
power tools with factories in Brazil, Canada, China, Japan,
Mexico, Romania, UK and USA.
Its global manufacturing base and international distribution
network has created a complex supply chain that needs to
remain responsive to supply and demand.
To optimise operational efficiency, reduce capital costs and
improve response to demand, Makita was seeking a single logistics
provider, capable of streamlining its transport network through
one distribution channel.
TNT was awarded the contract to manage Makita’s inbound and
outbound logistics, providing connectivity between its network
of international manufacturers and UK distributors.
THE CHALLENGE
Makita wanted a single supplier to streamline its inbound and
outbound logistics and a branded vehicle to transport all of its
palletised, parcel and time-critical shipments.
