A pilgrimage of the House of Prayer . . .
Into the Depths:
A Scuba Retreat
January 26 – February 2, 2008
Roatan, Honduras
Scuba Diving is an experience that provides a rich
metaphor for the spiritual life. Diving into the warm
salt water of the blue ocean, you will see a world that
stimulates wonder, awe and awakens your spirit.
On this unique retreat you will use the experience of
diving to help open your inner life to depths of God
within creation as known in your own soul. Gazing into
the sea provides a pathway for you to gaze into your own
inner life, giving new eyes to see, spiritual ears to hear
and the awakening of the Spirit who is the source of
wisdom and insight.
Roatan, Honduras
The Retreat will take place at The Inn of Last Resort in Roatan, Honduras.
We will gather a group of soul seekers and lovers of the natural world to
explore this unique and magical thin place where God’s glory shines.
The Inn of Last Resort occupies its acreage on a private island and is situated
on the world’s second largest barrier reef! This resort, sitting on a hillside,
overlooks a private, quiet lagoon of warm, clear turquoise waters.
The Daily Rhythm
Our daily schedule will be paced to meet the needs of the contemplative
adventurer. Morning prayer will open our senses and introduce a daily theme.
There will be three dives a day into the calm beautiful reefs of Roatan. There
will be free time and Solitude available. Meditative exercises will be offered
to awaken the soul and senses. There will be group reflection and spiritual
conversation. In the evenings there will be Social time for community gatherings
and enjoyment.
This retreat is ideal for those wanting to deepen their spiritual life in the midst of
the natural beauty of the world’s inner sanctum.

During that time he developed an organization for interfaith dialogue, as well as a spiritual life center for
prayer and renewal. His history takes him to the Middle East where he lived, worked and traveled, for four
and a half years. Returning to the U.S. he spent seven years in California’s Napa Valley helping to manage
and run a retreat center. Throughout his life he has been connected spiritually to nature in all its wonderful
forms. Being an avid backpacker and swimmer has brought him in into countless places of natural
