Richard Garvey is a roots and folk musician from Kitchener,
Ontario. Richard performs with a genuine voice that echoes a
generation of youth that longs for environmental justice and social
change. Richard began sharing his music with great encouragement
from close friends to share his talents and gifts.
The first album ‘to become’ has captured the hearts and ears of his
community in KW. Richard hand made and distributed about 500 copies
of this DIY record. Each cover is made from recycled materials with its
own personal artistic touch. The cd has received support from KW’s
100.3 sound FM, and Owen Sound’s 560 CFOS. The sounds and ideas
have caught on and Richard now performs these songs with a four piece
band ‘Far From Rich’. www.farfromrich.com
The summer of 2010, Richard recorded more with song writer Polly
Edwards. The duo toured from Kitchener to Tobermory and back on
their bicycles. They promoted ‘A bicycle built for you’ on the 600km,
month long journey. They cycled, camped, performed and blogged.

Mayer. The style fluxes to fit the intention, content and emotion of each song.
