Safety Expert Shares Tips
Author of the award-winning book, Keep Your Daughter Safe, tells your audience:
The victim KNOWS HER
ASSAILANT in 80% of all assaults
4 DON’Ts
The vast majority of rapes and sexual
assaults are NOT the result of unknown
attackers.
don’t do things alone
don’t think things will
get better
While predator attacks do occur,
they are the exception not the rule.
don’t mistake acquaintances for friends
don’t rely on self-defense
S.A.F.E. Formula
Safeguard your information (what you
give out and put out)
2285 women will be raped TODAY
According to the U.S. Department of
Justice, 835,250 women were raped
in 2011.
Awareness (be aware
of your surroundings)
These numbers do not include sexual
assaults that did not end in rape, nor
do they include attacks or assaults
perpetrated against children under the
age of 12.
Fluctuate your schedule
Exercise your right to
say NO
20 to 25 % of college-bound women
will be raped or sexually assaulted
during their tenures as students
According to the U.S. Dept. of Justice,
1 in 4 to 1 in 5 young women will be
victimized while away at school.
Here’s a Question: If you were about to
park your car in some parking lot, and a
sign at the front of that lot stated,
“Warning: Owner is not responsible for
theft or loss to vehicles. Oh and by the
way, 25% of the cars parked on this lot
will be broken into or stolen.”
WOULD YOU PARK YOUR CAR THERE?
Cost to Americans 110 BILLION $
In comparison, robbery costs Americans
a mere 4 billion per year.
The reason for the huge disparity and
the staggering price tag is due to the nature
of the crime and its vast repercussions,
extending costs far beyond those of law
enforcement and hospital treatment.
Many victims of rape and sexual assault,
are forced to seek help that can last, not
months or years, but decades. In addition,
these crimes impact both home and work. life.
Absenteeism from work and the damage
to relationships, all add further to the costs.
Award-winning author, Richard Hart,
graduated with a degree in Criminal
Science at age 18 and U.C. Berkeley

2 years with Aid to Victims and
Witnesses.

its prevention, enables him to provide
information available from virtually
no other sources.

networks and speaker/trainer, Richard
provides valuable information to all
