Dupuis will retire May 2016 After a career of nearly forty years with the credit union, Richard B. Dupuis will step down as President/ CEO during the second quarter of 2016. Since 1977 when Richard was hired as the Treasurer/Manager, he has guided the credit union from its original Richard Dupuis field of membership serving employees of Bath Iron Works, with total assets of $3.7 million and 3,924 accounts, to a community charter credit union now spanning an eight-county field of membership. Today, Five County operates a 15 branch network with more than $226 million in total assets and over 26,000 accounts. Throughout his career Richard has been a leader and innovator in the credit union industry, championing member convenience through extended hours and pioneering video banking in Maine, including the creation and implementation of his Retail Banking Delivery System, in use at three of the credit union’s branch locations. Richard’s efforts, vision and years of commitment to the organization have positioned Five County as one of the most accessible and recognizable credit unions in Maine. In addition to his professional responsibilities with Five County, Richard has a longstanding record as a credit union volunteer, dating back to 1977. Richard serves as Director At Large for the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent, with three years as Chairman of the Board. He also serves as Director of the New England Credit Union Executives Society, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors for CUSO Mortgage Corporation and Business Lending Solutions, LLC. Richard has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Insurance Trust and on several statewide credit union volunteer committees, including his current role as Chairman of the Convention Committee and previous member of Insurance Trust Marketing Committee. Richard has also enjoyed volunteering for Maine Special Olympics for many years. Julie Marquis In a joint announcement with the board of directors, Dupuis has named Julie Marquis as the new CEO of Five County Credit Union, effective June 1, 2016. Marquis has served as VP, COO and most recently Executive VP, COO since July 2013. Marquis has been with FCCU since 1993, and has held various positions in Branch Operations, and Consumer and Commercial Lending in addition to her management roles. “It’s been an honor and privilege to work in such a wonderful industry, and to serve the members of Five County Credit Union. I will miss all of the people and I am confident that the institution will continue to grow and be successful under Julie’s leadership.” –Richard B.
