HOROSCOPE
We begin this month with a full moon
in Libra on the 2nd, making the focus
of this month one-to-one relationships.
With Jupiter going retrograde on the
5th, all will be focused on the long term
direction that romance is taking. On
the 6th, Mars goes into Pisces, which
is not the time for action, but feeling.
Because Mercury will be in Aries on the
10th and the New Moon in the same sign
on the 17th, you’ll want to take action.
Wait, because after the 19th the true
answer will come, or you’ll find yourself
correcting your mistakes in May.
Aries March 23 - April 22 HAPPY Solar
Return! The pieces are finally coming
together. All you have left is the fine tuning.
This month brings a fresh approach
in romance and stronger bonds with
friendships. Learn how to express yourself
with humor. You’ll find people more
receptive.
by
Jacqueline
It’s a good time for you to explore new
career opportunities and make long term
plans to achieve what you want.
April 25

Leo July 23 – August 22 Finally Saturn in
your sign is going direct on the 19th! You’re
being released and you’re plans will start
going the way you’ve wanted. However,
Saturn is still in your sign, which means
that you are still in the learning process.
Go with the flow and don’t get stuck in one
direction.
DIANA ROSS
Virgo August 23 – September 22 You’ll be
focused more than usual on your health this
month. Take the time to make the changes
you need to improve your quality of life.
You’ll find minor issues coming into your
love life. Learn to use your sense of humor.
Don’t take it too seriously.
continued on page Taurus April 23 – May 22 You feel rushed
this month. Everybody wants everything
now. Relax; slow and steady wins the race.
They’ll wait. This is the time to stand for
who you truly are. Don’t let anyone throw
you off track. Remember that taking care
of yourself first allows you to accomplish
tasks more effectively and efficiently.
Gemini May 23 – June 22 Your appetite
for excitement is peaking this month when
Venus goes into your sign on the 12th.
Others will be attracted to you and are
willing to enjoy the fun. Be careful because
what you see is not always what is true.
Follow what you feel and not what you
see.
Cancer June 23 – July 22 Just because
you can see they might walk off that cliff
doesn’t mean that you can stop them.
Don’t struggle with such things this month
or you’ll waste your time. Use your time
instead to make your quality of life better.

$1,900 is the haul
from the Build the
Walls! benefit for
The Living Room
of Brevard held at
the Cold Keg in
Melbourne. Sharon
and the staff went
all out to make it a
success. The community’s dedication
shown through as
the day after St. Patrick’s Day really isn’t
the best day for a benefit but the crowd was generous as were the donors of the many raffle and
auction items. It’s a great start for the year for a new and just starting community center.
Kelli Randell and Roz Russell (right) hosted Build the
Walls! benefit for The Living Room at the Cold Keg
featuring (below from right) Velvet Lenore, Mercedes,
Addison Taylor, Shelita Cox, Angelica Marie Kincade and
Veronica Ray. The show, raffles, and auctions netted $1,900
for The Living Room. Flowers were provided by Brevard
Florist.
Speaking of just starting, The Living Room has begun to operate in a limited fashion. With
it’s business license it can do things at its offices but with no walls – it’s just one large room
– there can be only one activity at a time there. The need $10,000 to put up the walls and
hope to start soon building out piece-meal all the while continuing with Gay Skate and starting some new programs. They are always looking for volunteers, just email volunteers@
TLRbrevard.org.
We were really sorry we didn’t know about the Project Response events in time for the last
issue so we missed telling you about their March 10th Lightly Fondled rummage sale at their
Melbourne location and ARTopia major fundraiser on March 29th at the Heritage Center in Vero
Beach. That’s the problem with being a monthly, announcements often come in after deadline.
But the First Lady of Melbourne, Roz Russell, did know about it and pitched in. You go girl!
We’re going to keep it short this month so there’s room for some pictures from The Pridefest
of the Palm Beaches and we hope we’ll be in shape to get them in after two days of partying
in West Palm – of course we can’t miss being well rested from our stay at Grandview Gardens.
Somehow no matter how harried we are, just walking in soothes our soul and the gracious
hosts Rick and Peter make sure our time there is relaxing even if we’re only there for the few
hours between last call at Kashmir and breakfast (well, brunch – ok lunch)!
Treasure Coast Pride, April 22 in Port St. Lucie, is this month’s not-to-be-missed event. It’s
going to be packed, with tons of vendors and a show like the GLBT community of the Treasure Coast has never seen – kudos to their board for a booking coup! Josh Walden, emcee,
Nemesis (Joshua and Jacob), Josh Zukerman, DJ Joshua, Redboy and Unmasked. WOW
In little old Port St. Lucie! Tickets are on sale now – www.treasurecoastpride.com for details.
This may be the little fest on the coast right now, but this is a group to watch!
The official afterparty will be at REBAR and if you’re lucky you just might get up close to some
of the performers and I know a lot of folks who want to spend some quality time with Joshua
and Jacob! It’s going to be a packed house and Jim and Jerry are working hard to have a
special treat for everyone: some more elbow room.
There’s more room in West Palm Beach now that John Elu is running Debutante on Saturdays
at The Lounge at 517 Clematis in downtown West Palm Beach. A new venue for everyone
to check out.

underwearchannel.com is just the place to

Spiritually Speaking
n An infant’s growth in the first year of life is rapid.
Around their first birthday, most infants begin to
walk. During an infant’s second year, the growth
rate begins to slow down, but both gross and fine
motor skills progress rapidly. The average child
grows 2 ½ inches in height and gains between 5
and 7 pounds a year during early childhood. During
the preschool years, both boys and girls slim down
as the trunks of their bodies lengthen. Their heads
are still somewhat large for their bodies, but by the
end of the preschool years most children have lost
their top heavy look. At the end of the preschool
years, body fat has shown a slow, steady decline.
The chubby baby often looks much leaner by the
end of early childhood. Girls have more fatty tissue
than boys; boys have more muscle tissue.
In the period of middle and late childhood, the
growth of the child is slow and consistent. This is
a period of calm before the rapid growth spurt of
adolescence. During these years, children grow an
average of 2 to 3 inches a year until, at about the
age of 11, the average girl is 4 feet, 10 ¼ inches
tall, and the average boy is 4 feet, 9 inches tall.
During these years, children gain about 5 to 7
pounds a year. Baby fat decreases and children
tend to double their strength capabilities.
Sometimes we tend to forget that between the
birth of Jesus and the beginning of his ministry,
he had a period of years of normal growth. The
Bible makes it clear that Jesus had a very normal
childhood. The Bible doesn’t tell us much about the
childhood of Jesus. Between the time of his birth
and the start of his ministry, Jesus played with his
friends and went to school and skinned his knees
and climbed trees. He probably had childhood
spats with his friends. His parents were used to
him being off with his childhood friends.
I like the concept that Jesus experienced everything
we experience in life. He knew the frustrations of
childhood. He knew the reality of growing pains.
He experienced the reality of teenage problems.
He even had issues with his parents from time to
time. Jesus and his parents did not always see
eye to eye about his actions. Once he apparently
did not pack his bags and leave with the family
group when they left Jerusalem to return home.
In fact, he was a little on the cocky side when his
parents found him. When they asked him why he
wasn’t with them and their group traveling home
together, he basically told his parents to “bug off”
and leave him alone.
Growing up can be a very challenging time. We
struggle to find ourselves while our bodies are still
growing and developing. Our bodies are constantly
growing and changing. Our thinking patterns are
14
constantly growing and changing. Most of us are
not the same people we were five years ago or
even one year ago. Our changes and growth do
not stop just because we reach a certain age.
One of our challenges is to find ways to grow our
relationships at the same time our bodies are
growing and changing. The relationship Jesus had
with his family changed over the years. Mary and
Joseph grow from being his parents to, at the age
of twelve, he views them as his earthly caretakers
to, during his ministry, telling his mother that she
isn’t his family to the time he was dying on the
cross, telling John to take care of his mother.
Relationships change as we go through the various
stages of life. The way we view God changes. The
way we view each other changes. The way we
view ourselves changes.
Jesus even changed how he viewed his friends.
One day the disciples were his main support, the
next day he was calling Peter “Satan” and telling
him to get away from him. Eventually, Jesus calls
Peter a Rock, a strong person. Jesus experienced
changes in his relationships. Jesus went some
difficult periods during his development years.
We, too, sometimes face difficult periods in our
lives. Sometimes our heads are proportionally
larger than our bodies. Sometimes we take the
same attitude Jesus took and tell our parents where
to get off. Eventually, our development balances
out and our maturity begins to kick in. For Jesus
to mature and develop to the place where he could
begin his ministry took thirty years. Growing up
can be a long and difficult process.
Maturity is something that does not happen
overnight. We like to think that we know everything
we need to know. Jesus had to learn his lessons.
He had a normal childhood. Before we can be
our most productive, we too, must experience our
growing years. Growing up is a natural part of life.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers to life
or don’t always seem to have it all together. Give it
some time and allow the natural process of growth
to occur.

continued from page Libra September 23 – October 22 With the
full moon on the 2nd in your sign and this
being the 1/2 way mark of your year, you’ll
be feeling a little indecisive this month.
That’s okay as it’s a good time to reassess
what direction you’re going. Be open to new
avenues to your happiness. Nothing is as
urgent as it seems.
Scorpio October 23 – November 22 You’ll
be sucked into the madness of others this
month. Don’t buy their story. This is not the
time to help others. Instead, stay home
and do something for yourself; Remodel
a room and make it you. I know it may be
challenging, but by the end of the month
you’ll be glad you didn’t get caught up in
someone else’s drama.
Sagittarius November 23 – December 22
Keep your calendar close because you’ll
need it to keep up with your busy schedule
this month. Don’t let the obligations of
others run your schedule; if it doesn’t fit in
your timeline than you shouldn’t do it. New
opportunities will arise. If it seems too good
to be true, it is.
Capricorn December 23 – January
22 They’re will be a lot of interesting
developments in your career. You’ll want to
act upon them, but wait! This month is still
a time for studying and observing as May
and June are the months to act. By the end
of this month, you’ll know when the time is
right.
others to see your point of view. They want
your advice and they’ll listen. Make sure
any resolution is for the good of the whole
and not of just you.
Pisces February 23 – March 22 Decisions
you’ve put off will come easily for you now.
Act upon them. Don’t let others distract
you from what you know you need to do,
but don’t neglect them either. Prioritize
and call them back on your time. In this
way you won’t feel like you’re being taken
advantage of.
For those who want to know: Now that
I’ve explaining each sign, we can start with
the planets and how they have an effect
on us. The Moon is the fastest moving
planet. It changes signs every 28 days. It
is known that the Moon controls our tides,
but it also controls our emotions. The full
moon is known to be an active time for
unusual behavior. In Astrology it stands for
endings. The New Moon is known for new
beginnings. With the full moon in Aries, the
first sign of the zodiac and the beginning
of spring, this is a good time to let go of
the past and begin a fresh path to achieve
your hopes, desires and dreams.

encouraging progress last year now it the time for everyone to give them whatever backing
you can and get this ridiculous law revoked. Go to their web site and sign up! We can have a
statewide success here to begin building momentum to defeat the anti-gay marriage amendment coming in 2008. On the national level the Human Rights Campaign reports that Reps.
John Conyers, D-Mich., and Mark Kirk, R-Ill., introduced the Local Law Enforcement Hate
Crimes Prevention Act, with 137 co-sponsors. More than 210 law enforcement, civil rights,
civic and religious organizations have already endorsed the bill. According to a Peter D. Hart
Research Associates poll HRC conducted in early February, 73 percent of registered voters
say that they support hate crimes legislation. Passage still won’t be easy so here’s another
organization that deserves your support. We all need to get involved now to build for a big
change in 2008.
Don’t see your event mentioned? Did you tell me about it? I’m a fairy, not a seer, silly! Send
your news, gossip and tidbits to [email protected]
