Quick Reference Guide: Reset Password How to reset password This Quick Reference Guide shows you how to reset your password if you have forgotten it. There are three ways to reset your SingPass password: 1) Online 2) Via mail 3) In person at SingPass counters Steps List Links / Screenshots 1. RESET PASSWORD To reset your password online, go to the SingPass website. (https://www.singpass.gov.sg/) (a) Click “Reset Password” under the Services tab on the homepage. Please note that you will only be able to reset your password online if you have registered your preferred mode of contact and have set up your security questions and answers. This function allows you to reset your password immediately. a Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 2. Read the following instructions before using the Reset Password e-Service. Enter the following details: SingPass ID Full Name NRIC / FIN number Date of issue of NRIC or FIN (e) Verification code (a) (b) (c) (d) (f) Tick the checkbox to agree with the Terms of Use. (g) Click “Next” to proceed. a b c d e f g 3 Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 3. (a) Enter the answer to one of the two security questions that you have set up previously. (b) Click “Next” to proceed. Note: Answer to the security question is not case sensitive and your account will be locked from the “Reset Password” function if you fail this step twice. a b 4 Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 4. If your answer to the security question is correct, a One-time Password (OTP) will be sent to your preferred mode of contact, either via SMS or email. You should receive this OTP within one minute of your request. If not, click on the “Resend OTP” link to request for a new OTP. a a) Enter the 6-digit OTP. b) Click “Next”. b Please note that this OTP will expire within five minutes of receipt. 5 Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 5. (a) Enter your new password twice. (b) Click “Submit” button to proceed. Note: Please note these guidelines when setting your password: Password cannot be the same as User ID Password to be between 8 – 24 alphanumeric characters, preferably containing upper case letters and symbols, with at least 1 letter and 1 number. Common passwords are disallowed, e.g., “password123”, “pwd12345”. a b 6 Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 6. You have successfully reset your password. You can now proceed to log in with your new SingPass password. You will receive an SMS or email notification to inform you of this password reset. A notification letter will also be mailed to your registered address within four working days for local addresses to inform you of this password reset. MAIL MY PASSWORD To reset password via mail, visit the SingPass website (https://www.singpass.gov.s g/) a a) Click “Reset Password” under the Services tab on the homepage. 8 Quick Reference Guide Reset Password 8. Read the following instructions before using the Mail My Password service. Enter the following details: (a) Full name (b) NRIC/FIN Number (c) Date of issue (as inNRIC or FIN) (d) Registered postal code or passport number (e) Verification code (f) Tick the checkbox to agree to the “Terms of Use”. You will receive a SMS or email notification via your preferred mode of contact to inform you of this request. A notification letter will also be mailed to your registered address to inform you of the successful online request for password reset. a A PIN mailer with a temporary password for one-time use will be mailed to your registered address within four working days for local addresses. Please note that it will take longer for overseas addresses. After receiving your PIN mailer, log in to your SingPass account using this temporary password. . (a) Click “Ok” to exit confirmation. There will be a list of all the SingPass counters that you may visit in-person during operating hours to request for an on-the-spot password reset. You will also be shown a list of documents to bring along.
