For our first meeting, we’ll have drinks, snacks, and a chill
atmosphere. Plus: some brand new Otaku Bingo cards that may or
may not expose your power level! As for anime, we’ll be showing
Wolf Children in theme with our school spirit, and SAO S2. Join us!
This week, music takes center stage as we delve into the world
of anime music videos. We’ll share some of our favorite AMVs
and talk AMV shop. Anime-wise, we’ll have some coming of age
musical offerings that will play your heartstrings like a fiddle.
The Soundtrack of Our Lives
Memories You Wish You Didn’t Have
It’s time to revisit the anime of yesteryear during our postmodern
nostalgia trip. Join us as we fold together some origami ninja stars in
anticipation of the day’s anime: Rurouni Kenshin (as you might not
remember it) and Lucky Star, which hasn’t aged a day in 7 years.
Today we celebrate fansubs, and the sub-culture they gave birth
do. We’ll try our hand at a live-fansubbing of the anime Dogtatokun before basking in Kill la Kill jokesubs. For those that don’t
dig fanlibs, we have a swimming anime with hot boys. Enjoy.

Do you like symbolism with your anime? Perfect! We’ll be
discussing the mindf*ck that is Evangelion and sharing some of
our favorite theories. Naturally, today’s anime has some sweet
visuals to enjoy even if you don’t wish to delve deeper.
Some credit production company KyoAni with the anime boom of
the mid-2000s. Whether you belive this to be true or not, you can’t
argue that they made some awesome anime. Today we’ll watch
some modern classics and examine the state of the anime industry.
Today, we’ll test the limits of your tolerance with Detroit Metal
City and a discussion about political correctness. In addition,
we’ll show Hayate--a harem anime--and chat about the relative
absence of feminism in our Chinese cartoons. We tumblr now.
We’ll have a fake-classroom setting for today’s meeting! Also,
there’ll be T-Shirt order forms for those of you who wish to wear
anime club on your sleeve. Our shows today focus on what we can
only assume is ordinary Japanese school and work life.

The sequel to Evangelion 1.11. In a
post-apocalyptic Japan, the defense
organization NERV continues to defend

much effort, joins his school’s Classics
Club at the behest of his older sister.

Negishi, a shy boy from rural Japan,
moves to Tokyo to pursue his dream
of becoming a Pop Star. However, he
ends up instead as the vulgar frontman
of a hardcore heavy metal band. He must
juggle his stage persona with his “real”
identity in order to woo the girl of his
dreams: sweet and innocent Aikawa.
Clumsy high-schooler Tenma can’t
help but chase after her crush Ooji,
who is daft to her advances. Meanwhile,
Harima, who himself likes Tenma, must
subject himself to all manner of torment
as he tries to get her to notice him. A zany

be screened alongside Corpse Party--both will induce horror.
In visual novels, the power of choice is really all you have. So,
choose to attend! Today we’ll be doing a club playthrough of “My
Girlfriend is an Alpaca” because reasons. After, we’ll watch some
shows where the protagonists are infallably unflappable. #swag.
The second Tuesday in November means elections! Anime Club
officers are selected via secret ballot on this day. Come vote for
next year’s representatives. After you’ve done your democratic
duty, stay for some alternate universe anime. Yes we can.
What if sea creatures… came onto the land? This is the question
today’s anime hope to answer. After the film, we’ll go out for
sushi on our last get-together before Thanksgiving break-hopefully you’ll still be able to down the fish!

Albuquerque anime fandom!

both critical analysis and cultural
appreciation. Anime Club offers
an occasional forum to discuss and
review topics pertinent to a deeper
understanding of the anime context!
